• The country is immediately north of the Equator, and

positioned off the southern edge of the Malay Peninsula

between Malaysia and Indonesia.

• The land area of Singapore is approximately 710.3 square

kilometres.

• Includes one principal island and 58 islets.

• The country is exposed to high humidity and plenty rainfall.

• The average daily maximum and minimum temperatures are

around 31.1°C and 24.7°C respectively.

economy• The economy depends heavily on a growing

financial services sector and export.• The dollar is the currency of Singapore. It is

normally abbreviated with the dollar sign $, or alternatively S$.
