Welcome to Center Hill lake The Nashville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you to Center Hill Lake. The lake is a pristine natural resource. Treat your lake and surrounding area with respect by keeping it clean and attractive. Enjoy yourself, have a safe visit and come again.
Fishing Information and Generation Schedule To obtain headwater and tailwater elevations, water temperature, and the generation schedule, you can call the TVA Lake Information Line at (800) 238-2264, Enter "4" then "37" for Center Hill Lake. Lake information can also be accessed at www.lakeinfo.tva.gov.
Be a Volunteer Center Hill Lake offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities in recreation and natural resource management. We are the stewards of nearly 37,700 acres of land and water held in the public trust … held for YOU. You can make a difference by helping to ensure the wise use of these precious resources today and their conservation for tomorrow. We need your help! Anyone can volunteer at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities: Scout groups, civic organizations, local businesses, youth centers, school groups, retirees and more. All of these volunteers assist in building and maintaining our recreational facilities as well as developing natural areas where animals and plants can thrive. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have parental or legal consent. For more information about fun and rewarding opportunities as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Volunteer call Center Hill Lake at (931) 858-3125. You can also search volunteer opportunities nationwide by visiting www.volunteer.gov.
Corps of Engineers Campsite Reservations You can enjoy nationwide one-stop shopping for reservations of selected Federal recreation facilities with the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS). Advanced campsite reservations, including those for facilities at Center Hill Lake, can be made by calling toll free at (877) 444-6777 or at web address www.recreation.gov
America the Beautiful and USACE Annual Passes USACE Annual Passes and the Interagency (America the Beautiful) Passes are available for sale at the Center Hill Lake Resource Managers Office between the hours of 7-3:30 on Monday through Friday. They are also available in fee areas during their hours of operation. Annual Passes cost $40.00 and are valid for one year from the month of issue. America the Beautiful prices vary and waive day use fees, with the Senior and Access passes granting half priced camping fees.
Primitive Camping Shoreline camping is permitted in designated areas only. An advanced camping permit is required and can be obtained by contacting the Resource Managers Office at (931)858-3125. See the Primitive Camping Map for site locations and rules.
Wildlife Management Areas Wildlife Management Areas (WMA's) are leased to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), and are managed for big game, small game and waterfowl hunting. For more information about the WMAs on Center Hill Lake, contact the TWRA at (931) 484-9571.
Corps Watch Hotline - (866) 413-7970 Help protect Center Hill Lake's valuable natural resources. If you see someone damaging or stealing government property through vandalism, tree cutting, or removal of historic artifacts, etc. call this hotline. Callers can get up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the prosecution of anyone committing crimes against U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property. Callers can remain anonymous.
Wear Your Life Jacket! Life jackets are the best insurance you can have if you're on or around the water --- though unfortunately many of us don't take them seriously enough. The fact is, simply wearing a jacket can save swimmers as well as non-swimmers who are suddenly in the water and may be unconsious, fatigued, in shock, inebriated, surprised, panicked --- or all of the above. Be sure you have the proper type of life jacket and wear it: once you're in the water it may be too late to think about putting it on.
REMEMBER: Your life jacket is a life saver --- but only if you wear it.

Center Hill Hunting Hunting on Center Hill Lake is allowed on most Corps of Engineers’ managed public lands that are not developed recreation areas, are not leased to other entities,
and are not designated as “No Hunting.” All State hunting rules and regulations apply. For more information about areas open for hunting, please check with a Ranger at 931-858-3125.
Center Hill Lake Fishing Tournaments Anyone wishing to have a fishing tournament or any special event at Center Hill Lake is required to schedule it with the Resource Manager's Office.
This will help us reduce overcrowding in our recreation areas providing a more enjoyable recreational experience for everyone. Firewood
Help us protect the pristine shoreline of Center Hill Lake by using certified heat treated firewood. Failure to do so may lead to the introduction of insects and pests which are commonly spread by firewood and can destory forests.
Fish Attractors Adding fish attractors in the lake is a great way to enhance the fish habit. A permit (free of charge) is required to place any structures in the lake.
Talk to a Ranger to find out more. Caney Fork River Kayaking
Kayaking below Center HIll Dam has become increasingly popular. Be sure to check the generation schedule, be courteous of other persons using the river, and wear your life jacket.
