Michigan residents now have one more reason to love their local library: ExpressSOS.com. The centerpiece of a new partnership between the Secretary of State’s offices and libraries across Michigan is ExpressSOS.com, the online, no wait Secretary of State. Through this groundbreaking alliance, local library public computers stations are identified as neighborhood access points to Secretary of state online services, allowing residents to complete common transactions such as tab renewals in just minutes. The partnership also connects local communities to timely Secretary of State news, such as upcoming election dates, by utilizing library newsletters,
websites and social media.

“What do you Geek?” That has been the question on our minds for the past few months. So, “What do you Geek?” What are you passionate about? Once you’ve answered that question, take some time and visit the public library… where we have all the resources to help you get your “geek on!” Like airplanes? We have many books on airplanes. Enjoy watercolors? We have instructional books on how to paint. Reading? Well, of course… We have tons of books, as well as online resource access! You have access to resources throughout the state of Michigan through the MelCat (mel.org)
system. During the month of September, stop into the library and pick up a scavenger hunt booklet. This booklet will give you clues about businesses in downtown West Branch. Figure out the clue, visit the business and get your booklet stickered. Return the booklet for a sweet treat and get entered in a drawing for a prize package. We will draw for prizes the first week of October and contact the winner! You don’t need to be present to win. Good luck and go “GET YOUR GEEK ON!” Contact us if you have
any questions.
