v The Staff Training College (STC), Chennai was
established in the year 1979 for imparting Managerial /
Administration oriented training to Board’s Personnel
covering both Engineering and Non-Engineering
cadre.
As many as 300 training programmes have been
completed by STC during the year 2011-12. Apart
from versatile inhouse faculties resource personnel
from various prestigious organisations are also
delivering lectures.
STC is conducting DRUM Project Training
Programmes since 2005, with an overwhelming
response from various Electrical Utilities / SEBs
across the Nation.

Engineers / Managers / HRM personnel of junior / middle level management from
Electricity Boards and Distribution Companies having business in distribution areas.
The Ministry of Power, Government of India in collaboration with USAID/India has
jointly designed the Distribution Reform, Upgrades and Management (DRUM)
Project with the purpose of demonstrating the best commercial and technological
practices that improve the quality and reliability of ‘last mile’ power distribution in
urban and rural areas in the country.
This programme on “Change Management in Power Distribution” ultimately aims at
helping the participants to develop greater insights into various aspects that
facilitates aligning strategies with the organization direction.
The subjects in this programme will be dealt with by an appropriate mix of
experimental learning, exercises, group discussions, role plays and lectures. The
sessions will be dealt by esourceR Personnel in the respective areas.
The objective of this course is to create an awareness amongst the junior and middle
management officials of the distribution utilities on the importance of appreciating the
changing environment of the distribution business and adopting the necessary
changes for sustainable development.
