HEADLICE—REMINDER: Please—regularly check your child’s hair. We will send children home, if head lice isfound in their hair. We have had a number of families report head lice in their children.

Controlling head lice requires people in a Community as a whole to act.

Salford Gymnasts to the fore: 

Salford Students Rosa Martin andSamantha Faherty competed in theGymnastics Competition hosted bythe Invercargill Gymnastics ClubSaturday July 2nd. A successfulstart to the competition season sawthe girls competing in beam, vault,floor and bars events. Rosa's teamplaced 3rd and she was placed

11th overall. Samantha was 3rdoverall and her team won 1stPlace. Both girls will be competingat Southland Champs in Augustand Samantha has qualified tocompete at South Island champs inSeptember.

Southland Ripper Rugby Players to Represent 

Scotland:  Go Scotland. 

Nineteen other Rippa Rugby teams from all over NewZealand will join Salford, to vie for the inaugural Rippa

World Cup at North Harbour Stadium, one month beforeRWC 2011 kicks off.

The qualifying teams from all around New Zealand will behosted in the Auckland area for a two-day Rippa Rugbyournament —8—9 August 2011. This will be a once-in-a-ifetime event for the year 6 primary school children.

Twenty teams of ten (5 boys, 5 girls) will represent theirarea as a nation playing in Rugby World Cup 2011. Thematches will follow the Rugby World Cup 2011 draw..

Salford (Scotland) is in Pool B.Game 1—Scotland vs Rumania 

Game 2—Scotland vs Georgia Game 3—Argentina vs Scotland 

Salford Students were up nice and early to appear on the Breakfast Show where it was announced that they would be representing Scotland. This will be a very exciting experience with All Black coach Graham Henry presenting the team jerseys at the North Harbour Stadium.

ENVIRONMENT AWARDS: 

Congratulations to Mahnoor Kamali, Xanthe Ridd and theirteam that created the Reflective Garden. Mr Tucker attendedthese prestigious awards with Salford being awarded Highly Commended atthe EnvironmentSouthland awardceremony. This isa fantastic effort.

We will continue todevelop this areaand have manymore ideas inmind.

We received $100of Native Plants as

our prize and willplant these in theReflective Gardenarea..

“Created by Kids” Art Exhibition: 

On Friday 8th ofJuly, Salford stu-dents fabulous artwas entered intothe City Gallery— Created by Kids Art Exhibition.

The work created,depicted their Kiwi,Pukeko and 2dimensional Artwork entered intothis competition.

Mahnoor and Xanthe receive their award on behalf of the Team.

Donations to Christchurch  - as part of her Enrichproject, Madison Flannery is

organizing a TOY and BOOKdrive for Christchurch Hospital.Donations can be delivered to the

School and placed in the collectionbox in the Office. Donations mustbe received by Monday 12 August.
