WELCOME, Fr. Jovito B. Carongay, Jr.
Bishop DiMarzio has named Fr. Jovito B. Carongay, Jr. as the
next Pastor of St. Nicholas of Tolentine effective June 30, 2020.
Prior to coming here, Fr. Jovito was the Pastor of Church of the
Ascension, Elmhurst. I personally know Fr. Jovito very well. He
is a good friend and a caring priest. I pray that his ministry here
will be a blessing to all. Please welcome him with joy and
open hearts.
Fr. John Francis
Congratulations and Thank You, Fr. Lucon Rigaud
God’s special blessings to you, dear Father Lucon! Thank you
for sharing with us at St. Nick’s the many gifts God has given
you. We had the joy of listening to your grace-filled homilies.
Conversations with you were inspiring and intellectually chal-
lenging. And as you move on to your new ministry as Adminis-
trator of the Parishes of the Holy Innocents and Our Lady of
Refuge, we pray that you will respond with joy and perseverance
to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in serving and loving His peo-
ple. Rest assured of our prayers for you and we ask that you
keep us in yours. ¡Vaya con Dios, Padre!
Fr. John Francis

SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2020 GOSPEL MATHEW 10:37-42
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mathew
Jesus said to his apostles: “Whoever loves father or
mother more than me is not worthy of me, and who-
ever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy
of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and fol-
low after me is not worthy of me.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses
his life for my sake will find it.
"Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever re-
ceives me receives the one who sent me.
Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet
will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives
a righteous man because he is a righteous man will re-
ceive a righteous man’s reward.
And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of
these little ones to drink because the little one is a dis-
ciple— amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his
reward.”

recompensa”.
