Jesusisfacingatrickquestion.TheSadduceeswantedscornedtheideaofrisingfromthedead.Jesusliftsthemfromthehumantanglesinwhichtheirtheologyhastrappedthem,toacosmicvision.'HeisGodnotofthedeadbutoftheliving,fortohimallarealive.'JesuspointsoutthattheresurrectedstateisanewcreationwherewearesharinginthedivinelifeofGod.Itisdifferentfromourpresentlifebutacontinuationnonethelessofourpersonalities,asmouldedbyourpresentlife.Tobelieveinyourownpersonalresurrectionisawonderfulgiftinthislife.Itgivesmeaningtoallthatmakesupyourlife.Itisexpressedalsoinourprayersthatweofferforthereposeofthesoulsofallthosewhohavegonebeforeus,whichgetsgreatemphasisduringthismonthofNovember.
