SECOND SCRUTINYToday at the 11:00 Mass, we will celebrate the “Second Scrutiny”for the catechumens and candidates who are preparing forinitiation at the Easter Vigil.

WHY PINK? Today is Laetare Sunday, the fourth Sunday ofLent, so called from the first Latin words of the entrance antiphonat Mass, “Laetare Jerusalem” – “Rejoice, O Jerusalem”. ThisSunday marks the middle of Lent. Special signs of joy arepermitted on this day, intended to encourage the faithful in theircourse through the season of penance; among these are thepriest's pink, or rose-colored, vestments instead of purple.
