1. This stage, around 12 km

-long, starts in Órzola, w

hose port connects the islands of Lanzarote and La G

raciosa. Step by step, the travelers w

ill go into the Natural

Monum

ent of La Corona, enjoying its badlands and the

volcano of La Corona. A

fter 10 km, the tow

n of Máguez

is visited and, after leaving behind the crossing bet-w

een La Atalaya and Peña de María H

errera, this first stage finishes at the tow

n of Haría.

2. A

bit longer than 12.5 km, the second stage starts in the

town of H

aría, leaving behind the house museum

of C

ésar Manrique. It goes through the valley of M

alpaso, som

e parts of the trail being a bit demanding and

uphill, but making it up for the travelers w

ith the ama-

zing views of the East of the island, sighting the tow

ns of Tabayesco and A

rrieta. After com

pleting the ascent near Peñas del C

hache, the travelers will shortly after

reach the area where the herm

itage of Las Nieves is

built, a privileged spot from w

here the beautiful pano-ram

ic view of the beaches of Fam

ara can be enjoyed. The stage ends by descending to the m

onumental tow

n of Teguise.

3. The shortest stage of the N

ature Trail from Ó

rzola to Playa Blanca, a bit longer than 9 km

, starts in the town

of Teguise. The travelers are seen off from the tow

n by crops cultivated w

ith lapilli sanding, which soon af-

ter are based on organic sand with vegetal barriers in

the plains of El Jable. This gentle stage ends in the ur-ban area of San Bartolom

é, a town located halfw

ay the N

ature Trail from Ó

rzola to Playa Blanca and in the cen-ter of the island of Lanzarote.

The fourth stage of the Nature Trail from

Órzola to

Playa Blanca is, with m

ore than 22 km, the longest

of them all. The route starts in the urban area of San

Bartolomé,

enjoying its

rich architectural

heritage. The path goes around C

aldera Honda and G

uatisea M

ountain, reaching the town of M

ontaña Blanca, as-cending afterw

ards between the peaks of Los M

orretes and M

ontaña Blanca. After leaving behind the tow

ns of C

onil and La Asom

ada the travelers will step into the

traditional vineyards which are part of the Protected

Landscape of La Geria. The tow

n of Uga, prior to the

ending of the stage in Yaiza, is linked to the latter by the trail that goes through the badlands, also used by the row

s of dromedaries that take tourists for a ride

through the Timanfaya N

ational Park.

6. The fifth and last stage of the Nature Trail from

Órzola

to Playa Blanca starts in Yaiza. The path is less and less uphill, and goes through the tow

n of Las Breñas, from

where a fun descent of several kilom

eters starts. There, the travelers go through the archeological site know

n as Poblado del Term

inillo. Soon after, the urban area of Playa Blanca is reached, ending thus this fifth stage and the N

ature Trail from Ó

rzola to Playa Blanca, near the beach of the sam

Protected Natural Space listed as N

atural Park by Act 12/1987, of 19th June and reclassified as Protected Lands-cape by Act 12/1994, of 19th D

ecember, furtherm

ore, it is a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA). Inside, the N

atural M

onument of La Cueva de Los N

aturalistas can be found. It covers m

ore than 5,000 ha, including 7 urban areas w

ithin it with little im

pact on the space due to the reduced population. O

n the inside it features lava lakes, volcanic cones and other interesting geom

orphologic elements,

but without a doubt the m

ain attraction of this space are the traditional vineyards, w

hich clearly exemplify the har-

monious coexistence betw

een the man and the environ-

ment, creating as w

ell a space of unrivalled natural wealth.
