Background knowledge:• Most modern hotels offer the room service. Guests

can choose to have breakfast or others in the room.

Room service is usually provided by the food and

beverage department and the waiter of the

housekeeping department may also provide this

service. Room service is usually a sign of high star-

rated hotel. Some luxury hotels provide room service

in 24 hours and customers can take orders by

telephone. The service cost is a little higher than the

cost of the restaurant, but it’s just the smaller profit

item in the hotel catering industry.
