HISTORY• On July 2, 1962, Walton opened the first Walmart Discount City store

at  Walnut Street in Rogers.

• incorporated as Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. on October 31, 1969. In 1970, with first distribution center in Bentonville with 38 stores operating with 1500 employees

• By 1990, it became the largest U.S. retailer by revenue.
