Innovationandtechnologyarerapidlyevolvingtheconsumerspace.Thetransformationisimpactingconsumerbehavior,theenvironmentsinwhichweworkandhousingpreferences.Ourcommunitiesarechanging.ItisimperativethatULIremainontheforefrontoftheseissuesbyreachingbeyondourtypicalmembershiptothosewhoareonthefrontlinesofinnovation.Embracingthesechangesincludesexaminingtheimpactandapplicabilityofoutsideinnovationandacceleratingthegrowthpotentialtodrivenewconceptswithinourindustry.Theconferencewilladdressthemesassociatedwithshiftingdemographics,changesinretail,mobilityandtheinvestmenthorizon.

SiteTour#1‐DowntownCharlestonWalkingTour(ticketed)WiththerenovationoftheGaillardAuditorium,400+newhotelrooms,multifamilyandstudenthousingprojectsandnewcommercialdevelopment,downtownCharlestonisinthemidstofabuildinganddevelopmentboom.Itisestimatedtheprojectsonthepeninsulawillcostcloseto$515millionandpumpcloseto$500millionmoreintothedowntowneconomyby2020.

Participantswillexploredevelopmentprojectsthatarerecentlycompleted,underwayandplanneddevelopmentsites.ThetourwillfeaturesomeofthebiggestprojectsincludingtheGreystar’srecentlycompletedElanproject,theHyatt/HyattPlace,SpectatorHotel,GrandBohemianHotelandtheplanneddevelopmentofCourierSquare.
