Second Annual ULI Carolinas’ Meeting (February 910, 2015) http://uli.cnf.io Page | 1 Innovation and technology are rapidly evolving the consumer space. The transformation is impacting consumer behavior, the environments in which we work and housing preferences. Our communities are changing. It is imperative that ULI remain on the forefront of these issues by reaching beyond our typical membership to those who are on the front lines of innovation. Embracing these changes includes examining the impact and applicability of outside innovation and accelerating the growth potential to drive new concepts within our industry. The conference will address themes associated with shifting demographics, changes in retail, mobility and the investment horizon. Agenda Monday, February 9, 2015 7:30 – 5:00pm Registration Desk Open ......................................................................................... Tapestry Foyer 7:30 – 12:30pm RIC Meetings (Separate registration required/by invitation only) 10:00 – 12:30pm Mobile Site Tours ....................................................................................Meet in Tapestry Foyer Site Tour #1 ‐ Downtown Charleston Walking Tour (ticketed) With the renovation of the Gaillard Auditorium, 400+ new hotel rooms, multifamily and student housing projects and new commercial development, downtown Charleston is in the midst of a building and development boom. It is estimated the projects on the peninsula will cost close to $515 million and pump close to $500 million more into the downtown economy by 2020. Participants will explore development projects that are recently completed, underway and planned development sites. The tour will feature some of the biggest projects including the Greystar’s recently completed Elan project, the Hyatt / Hyatt Place, Spectator Hotel, Grand Bohemian Hotel and the planned development of Courier Square. Site Tour #2: Charleston’s Upper Peninsula and the New Digital Corridor (ticketed) (sponsored by Mashburn Construction) As development on Charleston’s peninsula pushes north along Meeting and Morrison Streets, developers are creatively reusing existing building stock including warehouses and factories for retail, restaurant and office tenants. Morrison drive has been dubbed the as the digital corridor while plans for upper Meeting Street will include a hotel and the new location for the Charleston School for the Building Arts. Future development will also include a mix of housing options at varying price points. The new master plan seeks to accommodate 25,000 new residents over the next 20 years. 12:00 – 1:30pm Networking Buffet Lunch (open to all meeting registrants) ..................................
