Purpose Bring the runway/taxiway centerline separation at the Airport into compliance with FAA design standards.

Need Improve airport safety, as the current runway/taxiway centerline separation is substandard.

Alternatives will: Evaluate a runway/taxiway centerline separation of 240’, 300’ and 400’, including the no action alternative, for environmental impact.

Since last City Council briefing (June 5, 2009) the following has occurred:

◦ WHPacific sent the City Council a memo with information requested at the June 5 meeting

◦ FAA sent letter to City Council regarding their position

◦ WHPacific sent the Airport a “next steps” memo

FAA will not support the 240-foot option Doing so is a short term vision of the Airport

300-foot runway / taxiway separation is justified FAA will consider USFS operations

Constructing to C-II or C-III standard is a wise use of federal funds

Support property acquisition needed for 400-foot separation

Building the taxiway to C-II or C-III standard does not help justify a runway extension

Current runway length is adequate to serve the critical aircraft through the planning period

Support constructing taxiway to 50-foot width Only at the 300- or 400-foot separation
