iron tower built on the Champ de Mars beside the Siene river in Paris.The tower is one of the most recognizable structures in the world.

Louvre-Paris

• Louvre is one of the largest and most visited museums in the world, and possibly the most famous of them all, the Louvre is one of Paris's many must-visits.

French Open Championships• In 1968, the French Championships

became the first Grand Slam tournament to go open,allowing both amateurs and professionals to compete.Another novelty, since 2006 the tournament has begun on a Sunday, featuring 12 singles matches played on the three main courts.In March 2007, it was announced that the event will provide equal prize money for both men and women in all rounds for the first time ever.

Triumphal Arch

• The triumphal arch honors those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. On the inside and the top of the arc there are all of the names of generals and wars fought.

comes to us from the Greek language and its use in the Old Testament. It originates in the Egyptian Per-aa, meaning "Great House", a designation of the palace, which first came to be used as a label for the king around 1450 BC, though it only became common usage some centuries later.
