CONCEPTThe Golden Age festival is the celebration of this era, screening some of the all time classics as well as panels and events for all the ages. Reliving and embracing the nostalgia that many hold with this era and the cartoons within it.
BACKGROUNDThe Golden Age of animation is representative of between 1928 with the advent of sound cartoons through to the late 1960’s when theatrical animated shorts lost popularity to televised animation.
During this time classics such as many of Disney’s biggest hits were created as well as the birth of many other cartoons like Looney Tunes, Woody the Woodpecker and Popeye.
