ADIDAS EQUATION TYPEFACE

The Adidas Equation shoes were designed to go from high-tops to

low-tops simply by removing one piece. The corresponding typeface

was inspired by Tangram, a game that challenges players to create

various looks from the same set of shapes.

Right: Fly Hi or Go Lo.

Dwight Howard:

It’s on me to look squeaky clean.

Derrick Rose:

It’s on me to represent the 312.

THE NORTHPOLE PROJECT

Santa is known for being a pretty good guy. He’s sainted for

Christmas sake. But in the age of globalization, manufacturing has

moved overseas – much of it to China – away from the watchful

eye of Ol’ Kris Kringle. So this Christmas season, we’re introducing

the Workshop Tracker. Scan the barcode of any holiday present from a

smart phone. In a few seconds, you’ll know whether it was made at a

Workshop or a Sweatshop. Christmas is about loving your fellow man

– even the one overseas.

HYBRIDCENTER.ORG

Hybrid vehicle technology has the power to create a less gas-dependent

future. To illustrate this point and also promote www.hybridcenter.org,

we installed a fake gas section in local supermarkets.

THE ROCKET PROJECT

So why not launch a Sony VAIO into space?

We’ll recruit a class of orbit-inspired high school students and pair

them up with experienced mentors to transform a Sony VAIO into

an actual, fire-spouting rocket. We’ll document their journey from

design to a highly anticipated live countdown on launch day. Via

microsite, America can watch the blood, sweat and tears it takes

to make a dream soar. And for Sony, we’ll turn bits and bytes into

serious sci-non-fi hype.

DELSOL CRUISER BIKE

Single speed, fat tires and big, curvy handle bars: it’s the only way

to roll. Enjoy the ride, nothing else matters when you’re cruising—

not even time.

SONY KIKU HEADPHONES

Sony asked us to name, brand and launch a new line of headphones

for their US youth market. To honor Sony’s Japanese heritage, we

created an iconic character named KIKU, which simply means “to

listen” in Japanese. Each package includes one KIKU character

which, in addition to holding the headphones, is a cute keepsake that

interacts with your music.

Plug him in.

Light him up.

Watch KIKU

interact with

the beat of

your music.

To create buzz and introduce the new product,

we created a guerilla campaign using various

KIKU stickers. Onlookers are invited to take

pictures of the QR codes which will lead them

to the nearest KIKU vendor and/or various KIKU

vending machines situated around the city.

WINTER X GAMES 11

Winter X games wanted to feature top players Torah Bright (snow-

board), Shuan White (snowboard), Chris Burandt (snocross), and

Simon Dumont (ski). We gave each of them a bold statement about

themselves to create the hype for the competition.

EXCEDERIN MIGRAINE

We created a visual campaign and bathroom installation to

mimick how a headache makes people feel.

PAPERDOLL DRESS

A Silkscreen project exploring paper displaying possibilities.

Here, I decided

to do a 3-D collage,

on a human. It ended up looking

like a dress.

I AM 8-BIT ART SHOW INSTALLATION

I AM 8-BIT is an annual art show that invites artists around the

world to celebrate the love of 80’s video games and the beloved

characters created on the 8-bit programming system. Here was

my creative contribution.

CREAM VINTAGE: DRESSING ROOM DESIGN

I wanted to make each dressing room unique, but they still needed to

feel like part of a whole. To achieve this I illustrated the lifecycle of a

flower in each of the 4 dressing rooms: the planting of the seed, the

sprouting of the bud, the wilting of the flower and the return to seed

form. The visuals were simple and concept was consistent with the

vintage brand: everything in life repeats.

VANITY PROJECT: TEXTILE/ COLLAGE

After being inspired by design house m/m paris’s The Alphabet, I

re-created the typeface by hand-cutting each letter from fashion

magazines. Then, I used the letters to create textile and design

collages.

BLACKMAIL: IN-STORE DISPLAY

I was asked to design an in-store display for Blackmail, a hip

monochromatic clothing store in Austin, Texas. To match the edgy

clothing designs, I decided to create an art exhibit within the store

that would do more than turn heads. Using mannequins in a

non-traditional way I took them out of the storefront and turned them

into individual sculptures. Spread around the store, the installation

successfully garnered more shoppers and created a widespread

buzz amongst the artist community within the city as well.
