Fred A. Baker, of Detroit, one of the leaders of Michigan’s silver men, is loser in the Supreme Court o f the celebrated case commenced by Stephen Baldwin to compel him to accept 364 silver dollars in payment o f a mortgage.

. Baker claimed that silver doHars were not legal tender in the am ount due on the mortgage, and based his contention upon the ground that theBland-Allison act of 1878 was unconstituticmal. The Supreme Court holds that the tender was good and sufficient in law, and should be accepted by Baker.
