Exports were 820,032.875 larger than ever before in August, and exceeded imports by 837.929,699. The .excess of exports over imports gives fair promise of as large a balance in foreign trade to the benefit of this country daring the winter as has e W been seen. The volume of business now in progress has never been rivaled.

A very pretty wedding was held at the home of “yc_ scribe” last Wednesday, the dccasicdi being the marriage of his daughter, i ly r tle A. Comer, to Fred H. Ziegen, of Saginaw. The ceremony was performed by'Rev. Mr. Arnold, of Y psilanti. Only a few intimate friends of the bride and groom were present. Miss E ttie Lewis acted as bridesmaid and Cass Ziegen'was best man. A fine lupch was served after the ceremony, after which the haj)py couple went to Y i^ilanti; where they will begin light htouse-ketiping in a fine home already prejiared.
