Governor’s Message
Senior Regent’s Message
Dear Brothers and Co-Workers:
After returning home from the International Convention in Anaheim there’s a new sense of hope in the Moose Fraternity. During the convention Mooseheart Graduates and Moosehaven representatives were recognized and many awards were given.
For the California/Nevada Moose Association (CNMA), Premier Lodge Awards were given to Paso Robles (Bronze), Santa Maria (Silver), and Atascadero (Gold) Lodges! The CNMA was also in the top 10 association’s for donations to the Safe Surfing program and The CNMA ranked 4th in Moose Associations increasing membership last year! Great job LOOM and WOTM!
In the Moose Legion, our very own Gordon Dockstader was awarded an Honorable Mention for being an outstanding Fraternal Leader. As you know, Gordon is a Moose Legion Ambassador, serving Moose Legion jurisdictions in northern California and Nevada! When you see Gordon around the Lodge say thank you for his great Fraternal leadership.
I am also so pleased to announce that my wife, Cindy
received her Star Recorder Degree! Congratulations!
The main item that was brought up at convention was membership and it has three areas: Recruitment, Recognition and Retention. You will be hearing much more about this soon!
In late June, the Police Athletics League of Salinas (PAL) brought down 40 children to enjoy a day in the sun at Pismo Beach. As we have done for many years now, we prepare hamburgers and hot dog, chips and soft drinks for their lunch and provide a base for them to go shopping in Pismo and to go to the beach and for cleaning up afterward! My thanks to Rhonda, Jill, Dawn, Jason, Allen and Cindy for helping make it a memorable day for our PAL Kids!
I am told our 4th of July celebration at the Lodge was fabulous! We had the Electric Knights doing karaoke into the night and they went nuts selling barbecued tri-tip sandwiches and hot dogs during the day. Folks also watched the fireworks being launched from the Pismo Pier that night! We were at convention, so forgive me if I miss thanking someone who helped make this event such a
success! My thanks to Frank and Sherri Sullivan, Vince and Linda Neelen, Bryce Neelen, Shawn Neelen, Brandt Schwulst, Jill Coomer, Calvin and Tina, Gladys, Angie and Damon!
Our Pismo Beach Bash was a great success as well! Solomon Creek was just awesome and the barbequed tri-tip and dinner was fabulous! We had 50/50’s, raffles and more fun than anyone should be allowed to have! My thanks to Jason and Dawn, Joe and Nancy Samarripas, Frank Sullivan and Chris Martin. Of special note, Nancy Samarripas won the first 50/50 and she donated it back to the Lodge! Isn’t that outstanding? Thank you!!!
Again, if I missed thanking someone involved in helping with any of the events above, my sincere apologies!
In closing, keep up the excellent work in signing up members, who want to be involved and let’s keep the Lodge full of activities to retain members.
Don’t forget all of the great meals and functions in August!
As always, Think Moose!
Fraternally yours,
Craig Piker, Governor
Because of important family obligations, time did not permit the preparation of this month’s message. Please see the Sr. Regent’s message next in September.

THE PISMO BEACH MOOSE LODGE
IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE CREATION OF THE
THOMAS R. WEBB COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Your Board of Officers have sanctioned the creation of the Pismo Beach Moose Lodge, “Thomas R. Webb Scholarship” to be presented for the first time at the end of this coming school year (2011/2012). The $2000 scholarship will be presented to a deserving High School Senior attending a school within our local community.
Brother Pilgrim Tom Webb joined the Lompoc Moose Lodge on 13 May 1985. He was very involved, moved through the chairs of Lodge and served as Governor. He joined the Moose Legion, West Coast Central #214, on 16 November 1985, also proceeding through the chairs, and eventually
fulfilling the leadership role of Moose Legion President. Following his progression through the chairs in CNMA District 11 and as President and then serving on the Association’s Executive Board (Past President), he served as Deputy Supreme Governor and that of Moose Legion Ambassador.
Brother Pilgrim Tom honored us by transferring his membership to the “World Famous” Pismo Beach Moose Lodge in 2009.
Because of his clear dedication to our Order, you can see why we have chosen him to be the namesake of our Lodge’s first yearly scholarship to be presented every year hereafter to the youth of our community.
Congratulations Brother Pilgrim Tom!
We are still working on some of the details, and additional information regarding our program is forthcoming.
