PHOTOGRAPHY FOR NOOBS

By: Richard Wirkkunen

DO YOU OWN A CAMERA? Since you’re reading this,

I take it you’re a noob…

First Advice GET A CAMERA…

Nikon, and Canon make good cameras.

SET UP YOUR SCENEDo Not Set Up Same Boring

Scenes (See Left)

Be Original, it never killed no one, except the people in Nightmare on Elm St. That was a kick butt movie :P

Think About Rule of Thirds

NEVER PLACE SUBJECT DEAD CENTER

(Framing)

Try and use natural framing to create centre of interest…

Examples: trees, rocks, dead people, no not dead people. Richard, you need help…

Mergers Mergers are things that

don’t belong in picture, but are there.

Take away from overall composition by distracting viewer.

Re Shoot Picture

Photoshop

Leave Merger present (No, dumb noob, don’t do this.)

Exposure

Exposure Con’t- Exposure is how much light reaches the sensor.

- Controlled by F-Stop number, ISO and Shutter Speed

- Better under than over (this can be applied to something else too)

- Fix exposure in Adobe Bridge or Photoshop.

FINAL WORDS

There are several other things to consider in photography, such as shooting mode, lens type, lens length, camera type, etc.

Thank You to Frank Commisso’s Digital Photography class for notes.
