•Scarce resources During peak load time, when wholesale market prices are high ( especially the Capacity component), the DRMS software ( embedded in EIP) can switch on the PV or other RE sources thereby reducing power requirements in the grid. This is similar to Negawatts, but instead of load curtailment, RE generation is switched on •Abundant resources
When adequate generation is available, during off peak times, the DRMS software switches ON resources that can store energy. One example is a smart thermostat to pre-cool a building before peak prices start. Another is battery storage. A third is EV charging. This results in savings for the consumer by paying at low rates for the total consumption.
