1. UsedtipsandtubesfromLabs1-4cangointoyourschoolwaste.Used1XSBmaybepoureddownthedrain.

2. Plates,tubes,tips,kimwipesandcellspreadersfromLabs5,6ANDColonyPCRgointheautoclavebagssuppliedbyABE-PASADENA.Bagsshouldonlybe2/3fullandtwisttiedclosed.NoOTHERTRASH.

a. Afteremptyingcontents,cups/beakersusedintheselabshouldbe

sprayedwith70%isopropylalcoholsolution,allowedtositfor15

minutes,drained,washedandreturned.Iftheteachersuppliedthese

cups,afterthe70%isopropylalcoholtreatment,theymaybe

disposedofintheregulartrash–donotputthemintheautoclavebags.Someplasticsproducetoxicfumeswhenautoclaved.

3. IfyoudidLab6,theflaskofremainingovernightcultureshouldbeplaced

inthelabeledzipbaggie,refrigerated,andreturnedtoABE-PASADENA.
