LETTER PARTS AND SPECIAL STATIONERY

Placement of letter parts is summarized in the following slides. If a letter contained all elements, they would be placed in the order shown.

Some correspondence uses specially sized stationery. These are known as Executive and Half-Sheet.

EXECUTIVE CORRESPONDENCE Stationery measures 7.25” by

10.5”. In Word select File > Page

Setup > Margins. Change the left and right

margins to 1” and the top and bottom to 1”.

Go to the Paper tab, and select Executive.

HALF-SHEET CORRESPONDENCE A letter on a half-sheet

measures 5.5” by 8”. In Word select File > Page

Setup > Margins. Change the left and right

margins to .75” inches and the top and bottom to 1”.

Go to the Paper tab, select Custom, and change the width to 5.5” and the height to 8.5”.

An example is on the next slide.
