Shri Dharam Chand Samotra, son of late Shri Amar Nath Samotra was born in1951 in the remote village Barmeen, district Udhampur. He had three brothersand one sister. His father was a farmer.

He left his home and reached Udhampur town for doing some job to earn the livelihoodof the family. He worked on a sweets shop and later he opened his own shop. By dintof his hard work and ability he soon established his business in Udhampur. He gotmarried to Smt Darshana Devi, daughter of Shri Mast Ram, resident of village Badila,district Udhampur and shifted his family to Udhampur. He was blessed with threesons and one daughter whom he provided good education. His eldest son and theyoungest son are employed as Pharmacists in State Health Department and centrallysponsored National Rural Health Mission. His middle son is looking after the sweetsshop. His daughter is married in a good family and is well settled. He was a very simple, gentle and hardworking person who created a good rapport in the Udhampurtown. He was a social worker and very helpful to the poor and needy people. He breathed his last due to stomach problem and his Tenth Day will be performed onMay 25, 2018. He is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter. May God giveeternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the family members to bear thisirreparable loss. Shri Dharam Chand Samotra
