Thursday September 6, 2018 4 DISTRICTS Woman among 2 held for murder of army man STATE TIMES NEWS MENDHAR: Nearly four months after an army jawan was killed during a scuffle over a land dispute at a village here, the police arrested two persons, including a woman, in connection with the case. Police said Wednesday they arrested Mohammad Alyas and Zanib Bi from Mendhar yesterday. Army's Defence Service Corps (DSC) unit jawan Mohammad Matloob was critically injured during the scuffle at Chajjla village on May 5 and he succumbed to injuries at a hospital on May 19, they said. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Rajiv Pandey, had constituted a special team under the supervision of assistant superintendent of police, Anwar-ul Haq, for effect- ing the arrest of the accused, who were absconding, a police spokesman said. He said the accused have been booked for murder. Two missing girls, woman traced STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Police on Wednesday traced two missing girls and woman and reunited them with their families. As per the details, on September 3, 2018 a complaint was received at Police Post Nagri about missing of one major girl on that police lodged a missing report and started search to trace the missing girl. After strenuous efforts and continuous search, police team led by ASI Som Raj under the directions of Incharge Police Post SI Vikas Jasrotia succeeded in tracing the missing girl from Ludhiana Punjab in the intervening night of September 4-5, 2018. After completing all legal for- malities, she was restored to her family. Meanwhile, Police Station Lakhanpur handed over a missing lady from Bihar found abandoned in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lakhanpur to her legal heirs. The lady was found roaming in state of depression and thus Police Station Lakhanpur under the supervision of lady police provided her medical attention and conducive atmosphere which helped her to bring in state of normalcy. Police after sustained efforts inspite of language barrier and illiteracy succeeded in locating the exact address of the said lady out of several locations dis- closed by her. Kathua Police also sought help of UP and Bihar Police to reunite the lady with her family after legal formali- ties. The victim was identified as Bhanu Sharma son of Darshan Singh resi- dent of village Rajpura.
