A sock hop 1950scake was created by ClaudineDaily and went over big withthe 1950s garbed boppers.

The Foster Grandparent Program of Franklin,Clinton, Essex St. Lawrence and JeffersonCounties held its annual awards banquet onFriday, September 27, hosted by CatholicCharities of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. The partywas held at the Knights of Columbus of TupperLake for the 37 foster grandparents in theprogram. Ashley Miller of Newcomb, is among more than 900first-time, full-time students to attend SUNY Adirondackfor the Fall 2013 semester.
The Adirondack Nonprofit Network will hold aspecial daylong event focusing on the nonprofit sectorand the role it plays as a key economic engine for theregion.
Board members, staff and volunteers for areanonprofits are encouraged to participate! Electedofficials and government employees interested indeveloping or strengthening strategic partnerships withnonprofits are also welcome to attend.
The meeting will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 at The Wild Center in TupperLake.

Greg Brown, bass, wasborn and raised in the Bronx,NY. In 1975 he studied thebass with the Jazz Mobileworkshop in NYC. That sameyear he went on to tour withthe Flamingo’s. In 1978 hetoured with Dollar Brand inEurope, Africa, and Japan. In1984 he moved to the NorthCountry where he iscurrently performing withRay Alexander atthe Sagamore Hotel and theTony Jenkins Jazz Trip.
