TIP # 1 Sell Internationally
• Test the waters: Display your products to buyers in different regions.
• When listing on eBay.co.uk, mention international
P & P Cost• Your items will get shown to international buyers and hopefully Sales.
1 Step Further
• Continue to use your existing eBay UK account and add listings directly on international eBay sites.
• Consider language & VAT when it comes to these listings
• Try out English Speaking Countries: United States, Canada, Australia
• Try out EU: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland…..
Tip 2 # Offer Free Delivery
• Free delivery is always attractive to buyers & we are seeing this “NORMAL” these days
• Improves your Best Match search result ranking on eBay.
• Consider a trial period with set of listings & test the results.
Tip 3 # Check Your Listing Titles
• Revise Your Listings Titles• Include All relevant Information on Title
Accuracy is key — do not include any keywords that could be misleading. Avoid spelling and grammar errors, and capitalise words in a title.
Using words such as ‘original’, ‘official’ or ‘genuine’ at the start of your title as reassurance to the consumer. Include attributes that best describe the quality and build of your product, together with the location of where the product is manufactured.
• Lengthen titles to 80 characters
Use Google Keyword Tool to determine the most popular keywords being searched by shoppers. You will see the competition, global monthly searches and local monthly searches.
Note: eBay will demote results that have words in the title that are irrelevant to the shopper; e.g.. calling the item “New” in the title instead of selecting “New” in the Condition field and using keywords of other related products to get more search hits.
Tip # 4 Fill in all Relevant Product Specifics• Revisit product listings because they have changed over
time. • Item Specifics helps Browse navigation & makes it
easier for shoppers to drill down & refine the listing results shown.
• Invest time building out the data for Item Specifics available in the categories you sell in.
Tip # 5 List with variations• Group variations of products under a parent listing. • Helps other listings: If you have a product that is
available in red and green, and you’ve sold 6 red and 1 red, the parent listing of the item will show that you’ve sold 7 total, giving it more prominent in search results.
My eBay Selling Manager indicates missing Item Specifics
Tip #6 Review Your Feedback• Avoid Negative Feedback, ignore short term loss &
concentrate on long term return• Learn from Feedback and make operational changes• Comment /Reply to all Negative feedback
Tip # 7 Don't Use Good Till Cancelled• New, well priced listings will be automatically placed
near the top of the Best Match category for the first day or two and then will slowly move downward as other sellers list their items and they are placed above yours.
• To make this work for you, don't use GTC, and end every item every 30 days and then relist them.
• When eBay runs a free listing promotion, take advantage and end your listings early and then relist them for free every few days.
Tip 8 # Relist “Unsold” products
• Your listings contain a coded history that eBay uses to favour new listings and downplay older ones.
• When something hasn't sold after certain period, just end it and then use the "sell similar" feature which transfers all the product details but not its listing history.
• A bulk "Sell Similar" feature is now included in Selling Manager Pro and you can process 50 items at a time.
eBay Tells you if item has not sold for very Long Time
Tip 9 # Avoid too much HTML
• Cut-and-paste material from the web in your eBay listing description may bring in lots of HTML
• With too much code eBay Search engine “Cassini” thinks your item doesn't have a proper product description and moves it right to the bottom of the pile.
• Best to use Description Box for “Description”.
