Not only will our students be thrilled with the joy of giving, but also will learn about budg-eting and spending their money, as they make their purchas-
es. Teachers have the opportunity to sign up their class during that week for a trip to the Holiday House in the Sci-
ence Room. All items will be priced $5.00 and under. We look forward to sharing in this wonderful experi-
ence with our West Wing students. If you would like to volunteer for this event, click here.

Dear West Wing Mustang Families and Staff,
It is hard to believe nearly half of the school year has gone by. I hope you have seen we have been a very busy and productive PTSA! Let me take a moment to highlight some of the great things that have happened through
the West Wing PTSA since August…
Fall Fundraiser—We exceeded our goal of $10k—so we are in the process of gifting six SMART Boards!
Wild Western Free 4 All Event; 1st Quarter Principal’s List Luncheon and Honor Roll Treat—sponsored by Albert-son’s; Staff Appreciation Dinner—catered by Mi Familia Restaurant. Spirit Dinner/Dessert Nights—RazzleberrieZ, Mr. Scribs Pizza, and Dairy Queen; Box Tops/Labels—1st Quarter Collections raised nearly $800! Received 11 Classroom $75 Grant proposals and gifted all 11. We have a New/updated Website; New Spirit Wear items; Gifted
PE equipment and equipment for recess for each grade.
We have many exciting events coming up in the new year, including: West Wing Mustangs Night with the Phoenix Suns, Star Gazing, Daddy Daughter Dance, 7th & 8th Grade Dance, and our 4th Annual Spring Carnival!
I am so thankful that I am able to work with such an amazing PTSA Board, West Wing Staff and Students, Busi-ness Partners, the Community and Mustang families! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and
Happy New Year!. Thank you for your support and all you do to make West Wing such and excellent place for our children!

There are so many ways to help our school earn money and you can save money in the process. I am
going to give you a brief description of two programs where you can save money for yourself and earn
money for West Wing at the same time.
Program #1 - Target Red Card; If you use your Target Red Card to purchase items at target, you will
save 5% on your total purchase every time you use it. If you link that card to West Wing, then the school will
receive 1% of every purchase. I know, you are saying I don’t want or need another credit card, I didn’t either.
So I took in one of my checks, yes the little paper you write on to give people money with the old fashion way, to
one of the registers and they created a Target Debit Red Card for me. This card is directly connected to your
checking account and acts as a debit card at Target. After 24 hours you can go online or call the number on your
receipt and connect it to West Wing. It is that simple and voila! You can now save 5% on every purchase you
make at Target and our school can now earn 1% on every purchase.
Program #2 - Fry’s Food Points; With a Fry’s food card you earn points for every dollar spent. Those
points in return can be used to save you money on gas and when you link your Fry’s card to West Wing that will
increase our chances of earning more money for the school. Here is the great thing about the Fry’s card right
now. For every gift card you buy from them, you will get 4x the points. Just to give you an idea here is what I
did. I needed to buy some electronics from Amazon. I went into Fry’s and purchased $700 in electronics gift
cards for Amazon (please be careful on what you are buy the gift cards for as some have limitations on what
they can be used for and gift cards are non-refundable). This $700 I spent gave me not 700 points, but 4x that
amount, ready for this . . . 2800 points! I then went and filled up my trick with 25 gallons of gas and paid
$1.37/gallon. Yes you are reading that correctly, I saved $2.00/gallon, which saved me approximately $55. You
don’t even need to bring anything in to link your Fry’s card, they to actually have the numbers at the customer
service desk.
We strongly encourage everyone to participate in these free and easy programs, just be sure to un-
derstand all terms. Please remember to link your cards to the school and enjoy saving money.

Spirit Day Fridays
First Friday in December for Spirit Day
Fridays will support Mitochondrial Disease
Awareness. In support of this illness the
Spirit Day color will be GREEN. Remem-
ber, you need to be wearing two things
with the color green. We want to see lots
of green, not just little tiny spots of green
on your shirt or shorts. Let’s see how
green our school can be.
