Muhammad and His Prophethood
Reexamining Some of the Reasons
Why He cannot be a true Prophet of God - Part 1
Sam Shamoun
Muslim dawagandist Sami Zaatari has written a series of ³replies´ to my article providingsix reasons why Muhammad could not be a true prophet of God.
I will begin this series of replies by responding to a portion of Zaatari¶s attempt ( *) to defend
the story of Muhammad¶s night journey where he supposedly traveled to and visited theTemple in Jerusalem, even though no such Temple existed at that time!
But before I jump into my rebuttal I would first like to take a look at the passage that is used
to prove Muhammad¶s night journey in order to highlight all the gross problems with that
verse.
Muhammad Alleged Night Journey Further proof for the incoherence and incompleteness of the Quran
The Quran claims to be a scripture whose verses are fully detail
A Book where of the Verses are explained in detail ; A Qur'an in Arabic for people who
know. S. 41:3 Hilali-Khan
A Book, the verses of which have been expounded in detail and which will be repeatedly
read, couched in clear, eloquent language, for a people who have knowledge, Sher Ali
A scripture whose verses provide the complete details, in an Arabic Quran, for people whoknow. Rashad Khalifa
However a careful examination of the Quran shows that such is not the case since the Islamic
writ fails to provide adequate information and details for many of its stories and injunctions.
The following text which is used to establish Muhammad¶s miraculous ascent by night is a
case in point:
Glory to (Allah) Who did take His Servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque
to the Farthest Mosque (Masjid al-Aqsa), whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We
might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things). S.17:1
Here are some of the many problems which this passage raises against the Quran¶s assertion
that its verses are fully detailed.
1. The verse fails to identify who this servant is. Is this referring to Muhammad or to
Moses who is actually mentioned later on in the context? Or is it referring to some
other messenger or prophet?
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 2/30
2. In fact, how do we even know that the servant in question was actually a prophet or messenger? Perhaps he was devout believer who saw a vision or dream.
3. Where exactly are these mosques located? Where can we find Masjid al-Aqsa? Whereis the exact location of the Sacred Mosque?
Can any Muslim answer these questions from the text of the Quran alone? If they are
incapable of doing so wouldn¶t this falsify the Quran¶s assertion that all of its verses are fullydetailed?
In light of this our challenge to Zaatari at this point is very simple. We want him to prove that
the Quran is correct in claiming that its verses are fully detailed by using only the Islamic
writ to answer all of the above questions. If he appeals to other sources then he will only be
proving that the Quran is mistaken since it does not provide a thoroughly adequate
explanation for all of its passages.
But these are the least of Zaatari¶s problems.
Muhammad¶s journey to the Temple of Jerusalem
The only way that Zaatari (or any other dawagandist) can even answer these questions is by
turning to the sirah and/or hadith literature. However, these sources actually prove that theQuran is grossly mistaken and that Muhammad was a false prophet who deceived people by
his false dreams and visions which he claimed were from God.
According to the Islamic literature the farthest Mosque is actually the Temple of Jerusalem, which is called Bayt ul-Muqaddas in Arabic:
Muhammad Ibn 'Umar al-Aslami informed us;
he said: Usamah Ibn Zayd al-Laythi related tome on the authority of 'Amr Ibn Shu'ayb, he on the authority of his father, he on the authorityof his ('Amr's) grand-father ; (second chain) he (Ibn Sa'd) said: Musa Ibn Ya'qub al-Zam'i
related to me on the authority of his father, he on the authority of his (Musa's) grandfather, he
on the authority of Umm Salamah; (third chain) Musa said: Abu al-Aswad related to me on
the authority of 'Urwah, he on the authority of 'Ayishah; (fourth chain) Muhammad Ibn
'Umar said: Ishaq Ibn Hazim related to me on the authority of Wahb Ibn Kaysan, he on the
authority of Abu Murrah the mawla of 'Aqil, he on the authority of Umm Hani daughter of
Abu Talib (fifth chain) he (Ibn Sa'd) said: 'Abd Allah Ibn Ja'far related to me on the authority
of Zakariya Ibn 'Amr, he on the authority of Abu Mulaykah, he on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas
and others; their consolidated narrations are: The Apostle of Allah, was taken by night on the
seventeenth night of First Rabi' before Hijrah, and one year before the blockade in the
mountain pass of Abu Talib, to Bayt al-Muqaddas. The Apostle of Allah said: I wasmounted on a beast whose size was between a donkey and a mule, with two wings in its
thighs, which came up to its hoofs and were set in them. When I went near it to ride, it
became restive. Thereupon Gabriel placed his hand on its head and said: O Buraq! are you
not ashamed of what you are doing? By Allah no servant of Allah has ridden you before
Muhammad, more honoured in the sight of Allah. It felt ashamed till it was covered with
sweat, and became calm; then I mounted it. It moved its ears, and the earth shrank to such an
extent that its hoofs (seemed to touch its surface) at the end of the range of our sight. It had a
long back and long ears. Gabriel accompanied me and he never lost touch with me nor did I
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood

till we reached Bayt al-Muqaddas; and al-Buraq reached its halting place. It was tied thereand it was the place where the beasts« of the Prophets were tied before the Apostle of Allah.
He (the Prophet) said: I saw the Prophets who had assembled there for me. I saw Abraham,Moses and Jesus and, I thought there must be some one to lead them (in prayers); Gabriel
made me go forward till I offered prayers in front of them and inquired from them (about
their mission). They said: We were commissioned with Unity (of Allah).
Some of them (narrators) said: The Prophet had disappeared that night, so the members of
family of 'Abd al-Muttalib went out to search him. Al-'Abbas went to Dhu Tuwa and began to
shout: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! The Apostle of Allah said: I am here. He said: O my
brother's son! You have worried the people since the (beginning of the) night, where had you
been? He said: I am coming from Bayt al-Muqaddas. He said: In one night? He said: Yes. He
said: Did you experience anything which was not good? He said: I did not experience
anything but good. Umm Hani said: He was taken on this journey from our house. He slept
that night with us; he offered al-'Isha prayers, and then he slept. When it was pre-dawn we
awoke him (to offer) morning (prayers). He got up and when he offered morning prayers he
said: O Umm Hani! I offered al'Isha prayers with you as you witnessed, then I reached Bayt
Al-Muqaddas and offered prayers there; then I offered morning prayers before you. After
this he got up to go out; I said to him: Do not relate this to the people because they will belieyou and harm you. He said: By Allah I shall relate to them and inform them. They wondered
at it and said: We have never heard a thing like this. The Apostle of Allah said to Gabriel;
O Gabriel! my people will not confirm it. He said: Abu Bakr will testify to it; and he is al-
Siddiq. The narrator added: Many people who had embraced Islam and offered prayers went
astray. (The Prophet continued,) I stood at al-Hijr, visualised Bayt al-Muqaddas and
described its signs. Some of them said: HOW MANY DOORS ARE THERE IN THAT
MOSQUE? I HAD NOT COUNTED THEM SO I BEGAN TO LOOK AT IT AND
COUNTED THEM ONE BY ONE AND GAVE THEM INFORMATION
CONCERNING THEM. I also gave information about their caravan which was on the way
and its signs. They found them as I had related. Allah, the Almighty, the Great, revealed: "We
appointed the vision which We showed thee as an ordeal for mankind". He (Ibn Sa'd) said: It
refers to the vision of the eye which he saw with the eye. (Ibn Sa'ad, Al-Tabaqat Al-Kabir ,

Bhavan Exporters & Importers, 1784 Kalan Mahal, Daryaganj, New Delhi - 110 002 India],
Volume I, pp. 246-248; bold and capital emphasis ours)
And:
Ziyad b. 'Abdullah al-Bakka'i from Muhammad b. Ishaq told me the following: Then the
apostle was carried by night from the mosque at Mecca to the Masjid al-Aqsa WHICH IS
THE TEMPLE OF AELIA, when Islam had spread in Mecca among the Quraysh and all
the tribes« His companion (Gabriel) went with him to see the wonders between heaven and
earth, UNTIL HE CAME TO JERUSALEM'S TEMPLE« In his story al-Hasan said:"The apostle and Gabriel went their way until they arrived AT THE TEMPLE AT
JERUSALEM´« (The Life of Muhammad: A Translation of Ibn Ishaq¶s Sirat Rasul Allah,
with introduction and notes by Alfred Guillaume [Oxford University Press, Karachi, Tenth
impression 1995], pp. 181, 182; bold and capital emphasis ours)
The renowned Muslim commentator Ibn Kathir writes:
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 4/30
< from Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa> means the Sacred House which is in Jerusalem, the origin of the Prophets from the time of Ibraham Al-Khalil. The Prophets all gathered there, and he
(Muhammad) led them in prayer in their own homeland. This indicates that he is the greatestleader of all, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and upon them. (Tafsir Ibn
Kathir , Q. 17:1; bold emphasis ours)
Ibn Kathir narrates some hadiths to confirm this point:
The Report of Jabir bin `Abdullah
Imam Ahmad recorded that Jabir bin `Abdullah said that he heard the Messenger of Allah
say«
<<(W hen Quraysh did not believe that I had been taken on the Night Journey to Bayt Al- Maqdis, I stood up in Al -Hijr and Allah displayed Bayt Al-Maqdis before me, so I told them
about its features while I was looking at it.>> This was also reported in the Two Sahihs withdifferent chains of narration. According to Al-Bayhaqi, Ibn Shihab said: Abu Salamah bin
`Abdur-Rahman said: Some people from Quraish went to Abu Bakr and said, ³Have you
heard what your companion is saying He is claiming that he went to Bayt Al-Maqdis andcame back to Makkah in one night!´ Abu Bakr said, ³Did he say that?´ They said, ³Yes.´
Abu Bakr said, ³Then I bear witness that if he said that, he is speaking the truth.´ They said,
"You believe that he went to Ash-Sham [Greater Syria] in one night and came back to
Makkah before morning'' He said, ³Yes, I believe him with regard to something even more
than that. I believe him with regard to the revelation that comes to him from heaven.´ Abu
Salamah said, from then on Abu Bakr was known as As-Siddiq (the true believer). (Source)
And:
I remember being in Al-Hijr, and the Quraysh were asking me about my Night Journey. They
asked me things about Bayt Al-Maqdis that I was not sure of , and I felt more anxious and
stressed then than I have ever felt. Then Allah raised up Bayt Al-Maqdis for me to see,
and there was nothing they asked me about but I told them about it . And I remember
being in a gathering of the Prophets. Musa was standing there praying, and he was a man
with curly hair, as if he were one of the men of Shanu'ah. I saw 'Isa ibn Maryam standing
there praying, and the one who most resembles him is 'Urwah bin Mas'ud Ath-Thaqafi. And I
saw Ibrahim standing there praying, and for the one who most resembles him is your
companion (meaning himself). Then the time for prayer came, and I led them in prayer.
When I finished, a voice said, 'O Muhammad, this is Malik, the keeper of Hell,' so I turned to
him, and he greeted me first. (Source; bold emphasis ours)
Finally,
³« The truth is that the Prophet was taken on the Night Journey when he was awake, not in a
dream, and he went from Makkah to Bayt Al-Maqdis riding on Al-Buraq. When he
reached THE DOOR OF THE SANCTUARY, he tied up his animal by THE DOOR
AND ENTERED, where he prayed two Rakahs to 'greet the Masjid '«
³Then he came back down to Bayt Al-Maqdis, and the Prophets came down with him
and he led them in prayer there when the time for prayer came . Some claim that he led
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood

them in prayer in heaven, but the reports seem to say that it was in Bayt Al-Maqdis. In
some reports it says that it happened when he first ENTERED «
³Then he came OUT OF BAYT AL-MAQDIS and rode on Al-Buraq back to Makkah in
the darkness of the night. As for his being presented with the vessels containing milk and
honey, or milk and wine, or milk and water, or all of these, some reports say that this
happened in Bayt Al-Maqdis, and others say that it happened in the heavens. It is possiblethat it happened in BOTH places, because it is like offering food or drink to a guest when
he arrives, and Allah knows best.´ (Source; bold and capital emphasis ours)
The problem with these fables is that the first Temple was built by Solomon and subsequently
destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar¶s Babylonian armies in 586 BC. Furthermore, general Titus
and his Roman soldiers leveled the Second Temple in AD. 70, more than five centuries
before this alleged night journey to Jerusalem took place. Moreover, the place that was
eventually called Masjid al-Aqsa did not come into existence until AD. 690-691 when µAbd
al-Malik bin Marwan built it (or, as some believe, reconstructed and expanded it). As the late
Muslim translator and commentator Abdullah Yusuf Ali states in his footnote 2168,
The Farthest Mosque must refer to the site of the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem on the hillof Moriah, at or near which stands the Dome of the Rock, called also the Mosque of Hadhrat
µUmar. This and the Mosque known as the Farthest Mosque ( Masjid-ul-Aqsa) were
completed by the Amir µAbd-ul-Malik in A.H. 68. Farthest because it was the place of
worship farthest west which was known to the Arabs in the time of the Holy Prophet: it was a
sacred place to both Jews and Christians, but the Christians then had the upper hand, as it was
included the Byzantine (Roman) Empire, which maintained a Patriarch at Jerusalem. The
chief dates in connection with the Temple are: it was finished by Solomon about BC. 1004 ;
destroyed by the Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar about 586 B.C .; rebuilt under Ezra
and Nehemiah about 515 B.C.; turned into a heathen idol-temple by one of Alexander¶s
successors, Antiochus Epiphanes, 167 B.C.; restored by Herod, B.C. 17 to A.D. 29; and
completely razed to the ground by the Emperor Titus in A.D. 70. These ups and downsare among the greater Signs in religious history. (Ali, The Qur'an: Text, Translation and
Commentary (E nglish and Arabic E dition) [Tahrike Tarsile Qur'an, Elmhurst NY: Hardcover Edition, January, 1987] p. 693; bold emphasis ours)
In other words, THERE WAS NO TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM WHEN THIS ALLEGED
JOURNEY TOOK PLACE!
Zaatari sees the problem and therefore asks:
There is a very easy way to reconcile this problem, if THE temple of Jerusalem was there no
more, then obviously the prophet visited ANOTHER temple!
Who says that the temple he went to has to be the same exact Jewish holy temple which wasrevered by the Jews?
The very same sources which Zaatari appeals to say that the Temple that Muhammad went to
is the same exact one which the Jews revered!
Zaatari then asks:
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 6/30
Secondly, what's to say that God could not reconstruct the main Jewish temple for the prophet Muhammad on this specific event? The whole night journey is a miraculous event;
hence it would not be a problem at all for God to reconstruct the temple for a short period sothe prophet could go inside it and pray. Does Shamoun doubt God's powerful abilities?
The reason why this ad hoc explanation doesn¶t work is because the Islamic sources testify
that Muhammad described the Temple in order to convince the disbelievers that he hadactually visited there:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
The Prophet said, "When the Quraish disbelieved me (concerning my night journey), Istood up in Al-Hijr (the unroofed portion of the Ka'ba) and Allah displayed Bait-ul-Maqdis
before me, and I started to inform them (Quraish) about its signs while looking at it."(Sahih al- Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 233)
And:
³« After this he got up to go out; I said to him: Do not relate this to the people because they
will belie you and harm you. He said: By Allah I shall relate to them and inform them. They
wondered at it and said: We have never heard a thing like this. The Apostle of Allah said to
Gabriel; O Gabriel! my people will not confirm it. He said: Abu Bakr will testify to it; and
he is al-Siddiq. The narrator added: Many people who had embraced Islam and offered
prayers WENT ASTRAY. (The Prophet continued,) I stood at al-Hijr, visualised Bayt al-
Muqaddas and described its signs. SOME OF THEM SAID: How man doors are there in
that mosque? I had not counted them so I began to look at it and counted them one byone and gave them information concerning them. I also gave information about their
caravan which was on the way and its signs. They found them as I had related. Allah, the
Almighty, the Great, revealed: µWe appointed the vision which We showed thee as an ordeal
for mankind¶. He (Ibn Sa'd) said: It refers to the vision of the eye which he saw with the eye.´
(Ibn Sa'ad, Al-Tabaqat Al-Kabir Volume I, p. 248; bold and capital emphasis ours)
The only way to make sense out of these reports is if we assume that the disbelievers were
suppose to know what the Temple looked like since they would have seen it in their alleged
travels to Jerusalem. Otherwise, Muhammad¶s description of the Temple would make no
sense and would fail to establish his case if the people he was speaking to had no idea what it
looked like.
Zaatari himself indirectly sees this point since he later writes:
Moving on, if anyone does continue with the story one will find that the people around the
prophet Muhammad who knew Jerusalem ADMITTED that his description of Jerusalem wasaccurate as well.
The only way they could admit that what Muhammad had said concerning the Temple was
accurate is if they supposedly had gone to it and seen it for themselves.
Thus, how can a Temple which only appeared in Muhammad¶s imagination be verified by
people who knew Jerusalem when this Temple no longer existed in real time and space? If
Zaatari is correct that Allah only reconstructed the Temple simply in Muhammad¶s fantasy-
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 7/30
laden mind then how could such information be used to establish his prophethood or confirmthat he actually traveled to Jerusalem?
The only way to make sense out of all of these stories is if we assume that their compilers
actually thought that the Jerusalem Temple was still standing during Muhammad¶s time.
However, they were grossly mistaken since no such Temple existed.
This leaves Zaatari with the troubling fact that his false prophet never visited Jerusalem nor
did he ever see the Temple, let alone enter there to pray with God¶s true prophets and
messengers.(1)
But there is more to the story and there are other problems which Muslims such as Zaatari arefaced with because of what these reports and the Quran say.
Which Temple did Muhammad actually visit?
According to the Islamic scripture Allah told the Israelites that they would spread corruption
in the land twice. As a result of their mischief Allah sent people to punish them:
And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Book: µYou shall do corruption in the earth
twice, and you shall ascend exceeding high.¶ So, when the promise of the first of these cameto pass, We sent against you servants of Ours, men of great might, and they went through the
habitations, and it was a promise performed. Then We gave back to you the turn to prevailover them, and We succoured you with wealth and children, and We made you a greater host.
µIf you do good, it is your own souls you do good to, and if you do evil it is to them likew ise.¶
T hen, when the promise of T HE SECOND came to pass, We sent against you Our servants
to discountenance you, and to enter the T emple, AS T HEY EN T ERED I T T HE FIRS T T
IME, and to destroy utterly that which they ascended to. Perchance your Lord will havemercy upon you; but if you return, We shall return; and We have made Gehenna a prison for
the unbelievers. S. 17:4-8
Needless to say, this particular surah raises a host of difficulties.
First off, the passage claims that when the Israelites committed mischief the second timeAllah sent his servants to enter the Temple much like the people that Allah had sent
previously entered it the first time the Israelites had acted corruptly. This assumes that theTemple wasn¶t destroyed the first time around since if it was then the people who attacked
the Israelites the second time could not have entered it, which raises a serious problem.
As we had previously noted, according to both Biblical and secular history the first timeanyone came up against the Temple in Jerusalem was when the Babylonian King
Nebuchadnezzar sent his armies to destroy it in 586 BC. The second time this happened was
in 70 AD when the army of the Roman general Titus ransacked the second Temple.
Moreover, the construction on this second Temple began only when the Jews returned to
Jerusalem after their captivity in Babylon.
Thus, the people who attacked Jerusalem the second time around never saw the Templewhich the first group that came up against the Israelites had seen! How, then, could the Quran
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 8/30
claim that this second group of people entered the very same Temple which the first groupthat attacked the Israelites entered?
Or is the Islamic scripture actually referring to Antiochus Epiphanes IV or perhaps even
Pompey, both of whom laid siege and entered the Temple without destroying it? If so then
the same problem remains since neither ruler ever entered the first Temple since that had
been destroyed by the Babylonians.
This also means that the Quran is mistaken on the number of times Israel¶s enemies entered
into their Temple since this happened at least four times by four different rulers.
Secondly, if the Muslim scripture is referring to either Pompey or Antiochus then does thisimply that the author(s) of the Quran actually thought that Solomon¶s Temple remained
standing and was never destroyed? If so then would this not prove that the author(s) actually believed that the Temple which Allah took his servant to is none other than the very same
Temple which Solomon built?
Yet this interpretation seems unlikely since the Quran seems to suggest that the Temple was
destroyed by the second group that Allah had sent against the Israelites:
(And We said): ³If you do good, you do good for your ownselves, and if you do evil (you do
it) against yourselves.´ Then, when the second promise came to pass, (We permitted your
enemies) to make your faces sorrowful and to enter the mosque (of Jerusalem) as they had
entered it before, and to destroy with utter destruction all that fell in their hands. S. 17:7
Hilali-Khan
If this is the meaning of the verse then this neither refers to Pompey nor Antiochus but must be speaking of Titus.
However, one cannot be too dogmatic since the verse doesn¶t come out and say that Allah¶sservants destroyed the Temple. It merely states that they destroyed whatever fell into their
hands which may imply that they destroyed the land and the homes of the Israelites but left
the Temple standing much like the first group did.
Or, is the Quran actually asserting that there weren¶t two different groups that attacked the
Temple but one and the same group did? Notice the text once again,
So when the time for the first of the two came, We roused against you slaves of Ours of great might who ravaged (your) country, and it was a threat performed. Then we gave you
once again your turn against them, and We aided you with wealth and children and made youmore in soldiery. (Saying): If ye do good, ye do good for your own souls, and if ye do evil, it
is for them (in like manner). So, when the time for the second (of the judgments) came (Weroused against you others of Our slaves) to ravage you, and to enter the Temple even AS
T HEY entered it the first time, and to lay waste all that they conquered with an utter wasting.
S. 17:5-7 Pickthall
The statement, ³even as they entered it the first time,´ makes it sound as if the same servants
or people came back again. At least there is no indication that the author of the Qur¶an
understood this to mean that DIFFERENT nations were sent to punish Israel.
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 9/30
This leads us to the other major difficulty with Muhammad¶s supposed night journey.
Who actually built the Kabah?
Muhammad is reported to have believed that the first mosque that was built was the one inMecca and that the ³mosque´ in Jerusalem was built forty years later:
Narrated Abu Dhar:
I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Which mosque was first built on the surface of the earth?´ Hesaid, "Al-Masjid-ul-Haram (in Mecca).´ I said, ³Which was built next?´ He replied ³The
mosque of Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem).´ I said, ³What was the period of construction
between the two?´ He said, ³Forty years.´ He added, "Wherever (you may be, and) the
prayer time becomes due, perform the prayer there, for the best thing is to do so (i.e. to offer the prayers in time)." (Sahih al- Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 585)
And:
Chapter 6. The Virtue Of Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa And Praying Therein
694. It was narrated from µAbdullah bin µAmr that the Messenger of Allah said: ³When
Sulaiman bin Dawud finished building Bait Al-Maqdis, he asked Allah for three things:
Judgment that was in harmony with His judgment, and he was given that. And he asked Allahfor a dominion that no one after him would have, and he was given that. And when he
finished building the Masjid , he asked Allah the Mighty and Sublime, that no one shouldcome to it, intending only to pray there, but he would emerge free of sin as day his mother
bore him.´ ( Sahih) ( E nglish Translation of Sunan An-Nasa¶i - Compiled by Imam Hafiz Abu
Abdur Rahman Ahmad bin Shuµaib bin µAli An-Nasa¶i, Ahadith edited and referenced byHafiz Abu Tahir Zubair 'Ali Za'i, translated by Nasiruddin al-Khattab (Canada), final review by Abu Khaliyl (USA) [Darussalam Publications and Distributors, First Edition: December
2007], Volume 1. From Hadith No. 01 to 876, 8. The Book of Masjids, p. 409)
The main difficulty with this assertion is that it places the erection of the Kabah at
approximately 998 BC., since the construction of the first Temple was not completed bySolomon until BC. 951 (c.f. 1 Kings 6:1-7:51). However, the Quran implies that the Kabah
was built by Abraham and Ishmael (we say imply because the Islamic scripture never identifies the place where Ishmael settled as Mecca):
Remember We made the House a place of assembly for men and a place of safety ; and take
ye the station of Abraham as a place of prayer ; and We covenanted with Abraham andIsma'il, that they should sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or use it as a
retreat, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer). And remember Abraham said:
"My Lord, make this a City of Peace, and feed its people with fruits, - such of them as believe
in God and the Last Day." He said: "(Yea), and such as reject Faith, - for a while will I grant
them their pleasure, but will soon drive them to the torment of Fire, - an evil destination
(indeed)!" And remember Abraham and Isma'il raised the foundations of the House (With
this prayer): "Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-
knowing. "Our Lord! make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a

people Muslim, bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. Our Lord! send
amongst them an Apostle of their own, who shall rehearse Thy Signs to them and instructthem in scripture and wisdom, and sanctify them: For Thou art the Exalted in Might, the
Wise." S. 2:125-129
This means that Abraham, Ishmael, David and Solomon were all contemporaries who livedaround the same time!
In order to get around this blatant mistake of Muhammad¶s Muslims have come up with a
rather disingenuous explanation that neither Abraham nor Solomon initially built these places
of worship. Rather, these prophets simply rebuilt them!
Chapter 7. Which Mosque Was Built First?
753. It was narrated that Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Whichmosque was built first?' He said: 'Al-Masjid Al-Haram (in Makkah).' I said: 'Then which?' He
said: 'Then Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem).' I said: 'How many years between them?' He
said: 'Forty years, but the whole earth is a mosque for you, so pray wherever you are whenthe time for prayer comes.'" ( Sahih)
Comments:
a. The reference here is to the building of the first mosque ever built in history, which was
accomplished at the hands of Adam. As for the prophets Ibrahim and Isma¶il they rebuilt after old marks had been erased. Similarly, Sulaiman was also not the first to build Al-Masjid Al-
Aqsa. ( E nglish Translation of Sunan Ibn Majah - Compiled by Imam Muhammad Bin Yazeed Ibn Majah Al-Qazwini, Ahadith edited and referenced by Hafiz Abu Tahir Zubair 'Ali Za'i,

There is not a single shred of historical or archaeological proof that Solomon wasn¶t the first
person to build the Temple in Jerusalem. In case Zaatari disagrees we challenge him (or any
other dawagandist for that matter) to provide some evidence to the contrary.
There is also absolutely no evidence that the Kabah was built by Adam. In fact, the Quran
itself expressly affirms that it was Abraham and Ishmael who built the original structure of
the Kabah.
Behold! We gave the site, to Abraham, of the (Sacred) House, (saying): ³Associate notanything (in worship) with Me; and sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or
stand up, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer).´ S. 22:26
Here is what Ibn Kathir says concerning this text:
Building of the K a¶bah and the Proclamation of the Hajj

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 11/30
This is a rebuke to those among Quraysh who worshipped others than Allah and joined partners with Him in the place which from the outset had been established on the basis of
Tawhid and the worship of Allah Alone, with no partner or associate. Allah tells us that Heshowed Ibrahim the site of the `Atiq House, i.e., He guided him to it, entrusted it to him and
granted him permission to build it. Many scholars take this as evidence to support the view
that Ibrahim WAS THE FIRST ONE to build the House and that IT WAS NOT BUILT
BEFORE HIS TIME« (T afsir Ibn K athir ; capital emphasis ours)
But even this assertion is wrong since there is no proof whatsoever that Ishmael settled in
Mecca or that Abraham ever visited there. As the following scholar explains:
³« Ishmael is considered the progenitor of the Arabs. Dagon (1981) has shown that this idea
is an Islamic construction AND THAT NO CONNECTION BETWEEN ISHMAEL AND
THE ARABS HAD EVER BEEN MADE IN THE PRE-ISLAMIC PERIOD. Already in
the first Islamic century, however, Ishmael came to symbolize the Islamic U mma, and
biblical passages about Ishmael were taken to refer to Muhammad, the Arabs, or the Muslim
community.´ (Camilla Adang, Muslim W riters on Judaism and the Hebrew Bible from Ibn
Rabban to Ibn Hazm [E.J. Brill Academic Publishers; August 1997 ISBN: 9004100342], p.
147, fn. 37; bold and capital emphasis ours)
Noted Islamicist Alfred Guillaume agrees,
³« there is no historical evidence for the assertion that Abraham or Ishmael was ever in
Mecca, and if there had been such a tradition it would have to be explained how all memory
of the Old Semitic name Ishmael (which was not in its true Arabian form in Arabian
inscriptions and written correctly with an initial consonant Y) came to be lost. The form in
the Quran is taken either from Greek or Syriac sources.´ (Alfred Guillaume, Islam [Penguin
Books Inc., Baltimore, 1956], pp. 61-62)
Ibn Warraq, a former Muslim turned atheist, quotes specific authorities who also deny that
Abraham or Ishmael were ever in Mecca,
We are told that [Abraham] was born in Chaldea, and that he was the son of a poor potter
who earned his living by making little clay idols. It is scarcely credible that the son of this
potter went to Mecca, 300 leagues away in the tropics, by way of impassable deserts. If he
was a conqueror he no doubt aimed at the fine country of Assyria; and if he was only a poor
man, as he is depicted, he founded no kingdoms in foreign parts. ² Voltaire
For the historian, the Arabs are no more the descendents of Ishmael, son of Abraham, than
the French are of Francus, son of Hector. ² Maxime Rodinson
It is virtually certain that Abraham never reached Mecca. ² Montgomery Watt
The essential point ... is that, where objective fact has been established by sound historical
methods, it must be accepted. ² Montgomery Watt
According to Muslim tradition, Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba, the cube-like structure
in the Sacred Mosque in Mecca. But outside these traditions there is absolutely no
evidence for this claim ± whether epigraphic, archaeological, or documentary. Indeed
Snouck Hurgronje has shown that Muhammad invented the story to give his religion an

Arabian origin and setting; with this brilliant improvisation Muhammad established theindependence of his religion, at the same time incorporating into Islam the Kaaba with all its
historical and religious associations for the Arabs. (Ibn Warraq, W hy I Am Not A Muslim [Prometheus Books, Amherst NY 1995], p. 131; bold emphasis ours)
The story is far from over since it gets even worse.
Muhammad worships his god on top of refuse and garbage?
The readers may not be aware that at the time that Muhammad's night journey allegedly took place the Temple site had been turned into a dump site, a fact which both Muslim scholars
and apologists admit!
³« The site of the mosque in Jerusalem is where the Jewish Temple stood. At that time it
was a rubbish heap. µUmar told the people to follow his example in clearing the rubbish
away«´ (The History of al-Tabari ± The Battle of al-Qadsiyyah and the Conquest of Syria
and Palestine, translated by Yohanan Friedmann [State University of New York Press
(SUNY), Albany, September 1991], Volume XII (12), pp. 195-196; bold emphasis ours)
And:
Let's now deal with some side issues. The Christian missionaries tell us that when the
Muslims conquered Jerusalem they found the Temple Mount filled with garbage:
³When the Arabs conquered Jerusalem they found the Temple Mount abandoned and filled
with refuse. ... `Umar ordered it cleaned and performed a prayer there. The sanctuary [the
Dome of the Rock] ... was built by Caliph `Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan around 72/691."
Two question now arise, who abandoned the Temple Mount and why was it filled it with
rubbish? The facts become clearer when we actually fill in the blanks "..." in the Christian
missionaries' quotation:
When the Arabs conquered Jerusalem they found the Temple Mount abandoned and filled
with refuse. The abandonment of the Temple site was in accordance with Jesus' prophecy thatnot a stone would be left standing on another. `Umar ordered it cleaned and performed a
prayer there.[20]
So, it was the Christians who abandoned the Temple some 600 years before the Muslimsentered it. But who used the Holy place a rubbish dump?
Ever since the Persian occupation, when the Jews had resumed worship on the platform, the
Christians had used the place as the city rubbish dump. When `Umar reached the old
ruined gates of the Temple, says the Muslim historian Mujir al-Din, he was horrified to see
the filth, "which was then all about the holy sanctuary, had settled on the steps of the gates so
that it even came out into the streets in which the gate opened, and it had accumulated so
greatly as almost to reach up the ceiling of the gateway." The only way to get up to the
platform was to crawl on hands and knees. Sophronius went first and the Muslims struggledup behind. When they arrived at the top, the Muslims must have gazed appalled at the vast

and desolate expanse of Herod's platform, still covered with piles of fallen masonry and
garbage.[21]
It was the Christians! «

In light of this are we to seriously believe that Muhammad visited a dump site and led all of
the true prophets of God in worship? Does Zaatari really want us to accept that God¶s true prophets prayed on top of a rubbish heap? Even Umar had enough common sense to cleanse
the site before offering prayers to his god!
Muhammad ± Islam¶s Soothsayer and Fortuneteller
As a last ditch effort to salvage Muhammad¶s prophetic assertions and reputation Zaatari
argues that I cannot simply pick only certain aspects of this story while disregarding the restwhich supposedly refutes my point.
Thirdly, as I said in rebuttal number two, Shamoun cannot pick parts of the story he likes, and
disregard other parts of the story which debunk his case! Why doesn't Shamoun quote the
entire story? For instance this part«
Zaatari then references the part where Muhammad claimed that a certain caravan was on its
way and mentioned some of their camels¶ circumstances which they encountered, all of
which supposedly turned out to be true:
So notice the prophet gave proof of his journey, noting things on the way which no one couldknow! Hence why Does Shamoun leave this out? If he wants Muslims to carefully assess
their prophet then with all due respect quote the entire story so we can assess the entire eventand situation. It is mischievous to ask Muslims to carefully consider our prophet when you
cannot even carefully quote the entire story, especially when it is on the same page as he isquoting from!
This is Islamic make-believe at its best. No serious historian would follow such reasoning.
Why should propheto-fiction overcome the hard facts? Because Zaatari so badly wants to believe it?
The issue is that the statements about the visit to the Temple can be cross-checked against
historical data and they are clearly proven false. And these obviously wrong claims mark the
entire story as unreliable. On the other hand, who is able to check these claims about thecamels today? (Or even at the time when Ibn Ishaq first wrote it?) What reason can Zaatari

³At that time if anyone says to you, µLook, here is the Christ!¶ or, 'There he is!' do not believeit. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to
deceive even the elect²if that were possible.´ Matthew 24:23-24
However, these predictions do not explain away all of Muhammad¶s false prophecies,
mistakes, and lies such as his claim to have visited a Temple which did not exist in his day.
In fact, according to Muhammad¶s own words this establishes that he was nothing more than
a soothsayer and fortuneteller who mixed truth with lies and deception:
Narrated
Some people asked Allah's Apostle about the fore-tellers. He said, "They are nothing." Theysaid, "O Allah's Apostle! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true ."
Allah's Apostle said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it into the ear of his
friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle). The foreteller then mixes with
that word one hundred lies." (Sahih al- Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 657)
Narrated
Some people asked the Prophet regarding the soothsayers. He said, ³T hey are nothing .´ Theysaid, ³O Allah's Apostle! Some of their talks come true.´ The Prophet said, ³That word which
happens to be true is what a Jinn snatches away by stealth (from the Heaven) and pours it in
the ears of his friend (the foreteller) with a sound like the cackling of a hen. The soothsayers
then mix with that word, one hundred lies.´ (Sahih al- Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number
650)
Muhammad¶s claim to have visited a Temple which no longer existed along with his
supposedly describing things that he saw on his journey which turned out to be accurate only
prove that he was no different than the soothsayers who mixed lies with truth. It confirms that
Muhammad was being inspired by the demons which he called Jinn, much like the
fortunetellers.
More importantly, Zaatari has to be consistent at this point by applying his own criterion to
this fable and therefore cannot simply accept the parts of this story which suit his purpose. He
must contend with the fact that these sources contain a gross historical mistake which
severely damage Muhammad¶s credibility and integrity. Muhammad¶s supposed night
journey to the Jerusalem Temple could not have taken place since no Temple existed at that
time!
Therefore, the only conclusion that Zaatari can come to is that the Quran contains serious
mistakes and that Muhammad is a false prophet!
So much for Zaatari¶s defense of this gross historical error within the Islamic corpus.
With that said we encourage the readers to continue reading the second part of our rebuttal.

Endnotes
(1) This whole story might actually support the theory of the radical revisionists who say thatIslam itself only came into existence much later, and that Muhammad never existed. For
instance, there was a mosque built in Jerusalem called Masjid al-Aqsa. However, it is believed that this mosque may have been constructed during the Umayyad period and that it
was later reconstructed and expanded by µAbd al-Malik bin Marwan in 690-692 AD.
This suggests that at the very least this particular Quranic verse was inserted later and the
story which was written around it must have been concocted at a time when the people knew
of such a mosque in that location. In light of this it seems reasonably certain that later
generations of Muslims projected the existence of this building back into the imaginary life of
Muhammad and in so doing ended up providing even more incriminating evidence that he
was a false prophet and that the Quran is not from the true God.

Muhammad and His Prophethood
Reexamining Some of the Reasons
Why He cannot be a true Prophet of God - Part 2
Sam Shamoun
We continue with our replies to Sami Zaatari¶s attempt of addressing my reasons whyMuhammad is a false prophet.
In this particular article we will be addressing Zaatari¶s reply to my first proposition which
stated that Muhammad is a false prophet since he claimed to confirm the Holy Bible whilecontradicting its core doctrines.
Exposing Zaatari¶s Logical Fallacies
Throughout his debates and articles Zaatari¶s modus operandi in either attacking the Christian
view or defending his Islamic position is to engage in reasoning that is utterly fallacious, suchas begging the question. His series of ³rebuttals´ are no different.
For instance, Zaatari quotes specific verses to show that the Quran confirms the previous
Scriptures such as the Torah of Moses and the Gospel of Jesus, but then claims that these arenot the same as the Scriptures which we currently possess. Zaatari goes on to say,
So therefore if Shamoun finds something from his Bible which seems to contradict Islam this
is not an argument AGAINST the prophet Muhammad, because we are not going to be held
ransom [ sic] to a corrupt book, rather what we Muslims shall accept from the Bible are the
parts which go hand in hand with the Quran«
Later on he writes,
µWell Shamoun you have committed several errors, the Quran indeed does claim that
Muhammad is consistent with the former prophets and their scriptures, yet these scripturesare not the Bible you currently hold. Number two the Quran tells us your current Bible is
corrupt, and it also tells us that what agrees with Islam in your Bible is true and whatcontradicts Islam is false. Hence when you show contradictions between the two books you
only show the corrupted parts of your Bible.'
Apart from begging the question Zaatari¶s assertion simply confirms my point. Even though
Muhammad claimed to follow in the footsteps of the prophets and assumed that his message
was consistent with the previous Scriptures the fact of the matter is that the prophetic writingsactually expose and condemn him as a false prophet. This is why Zaatari and his ilk mustdeny that Muhammad confirmed the authority and veracity of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures
and assert that the Bible we currently possess is not the inspired Book which the Quranconfirms.
The problem with this ³response´ is that it flies in the face of the verses I had cited as well as
contradicting the following Quranic passages which emphatically testify that Muhammadcame to confirm the very Scriptures in the possession of the Jews and Christians of his day:
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 18/30
Dispute not with the People of the Book save in the fairer manner, except for those of themthat do wrong; and say, 'We believe in what has been sent down to us, and what has been
sent down to you; our God and your God is One, and to Him we have surrendered.' S. 29:46
Here both Muhammad and his followers were commanded to believe in the revelation sent
down to the Jews and Christians. Notice that this passage doesn¶t qualify its meaning, e.g.
Muslims were required to only affirm the original revelation given to the Jews and Christians but not the Scriptures which they possessed at Muhammad¶s time since these writings were
corrupted.
In this next reference mention is made of the Torah and the Gospel that were with the Jews
and Christians:
They measured not Allah with His true measure when they said, 'Allah has not sent downaught on any mortal.' Say: 'Who sent down the Book that Moses brought as a light and a
guidance to men? You put it into parchments, revealing them, and hiding much; and youwere taught that you knew not, you and your fathers.' Say: 'Allah.' Then leave them alone,
playing their game of plunging. This is a Book We have sent down, blessed and confirming
that which is between his/its hands (musaddiqu allathee bayna yadayhi) , and for thee towarn the Mother of Cities and those about her ; and those who believe in the world to come
believe in it, and watch over their prayers. S. 6:91-92
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet, the U mmi whom they find written down in
the Torah and the Gospel WHICH ARE WITH THEM« Of the people of Moses there
is a section who guide and do justice in the light of truth ... We broke them up into sections
on this earth. There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the
opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity: In order that they might turn
(to Us). After them succeeded an (evil) generation: They inherited the Book, but they chose
(for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse): "(Everything) will be forgiven
us." (Even so), if similar vanities came their way, they would (again) seize them. Was not thecovenant of the Book taken from them, that they would not ascribe to Allah anything but the
truth? AND THEY STUDY WHAT IS IN THE BOOK . But best for the righteous is theHome in the Hereafter. Will ye not understand? As to those who hold fast by THE BOOK
and establish regular prayer,- never shall We suffer the reward of the righteous to perish. S.7:157, 159, 168-170
These references claim that the Jews and Christians of Muhammad¶s time possessed the
Torah and the Gospel, that the Jews would write down the Book of Moses on sheets, and thatthey held fast to and studied the Book. Yet not a single word is said about the texts of these
Scriptures being corrupted!
Historically, the only revelation which the Jews and Christians had, the only Torah andGospel that these communities possessed were the Old and New Testaments respectively. This means that according to these verses Muhammad confirmed the authority and
authenticity of the Old and New Testaments!
To top it off, Muhammad ordered the Jews to judge by the Torah in their possession!
Yet how will they make thee their judge seeing T HEY HAVE the T orah, wherein is God's
judgment , then thereafter turn their backs? T hey are not believers. Surely we sent down the
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 19/30
T orah, wherein is guidance and light; thereby the P rophets who had surrendered themselves gave judgment for those of Jewry, as did the masters and the rabbis, following
such portion of God's Book as they were given to keep and were witnesses to. So fear notmen, but fear you me; and sell not my signs for a little price. Whoso judges not according to
what God has sent down - they are the unbelievers. And therein we prescribed for them: 'A
life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth,
and for wounds retaliation'; but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, that shall be for him an expiation. Whoso judges not according to what God has sent down -- they are the
evildoers. S. 5:43-45
Muhammad warns the Jews that if they failed to judge in accord with the Torah then they are
evildoers and unbelievers. He even quotes the Torah, specifically the following OT
command:
³If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is
no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the
court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for
tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.´
Exodus 21:22-25 ± cf. Lev. 24:17-20; Deut. 19:15-21
Muhammad reasoned that if the Torah was good enough for the prophets then it should be
good enough for the Jews of his time to rule by. This presupposes that these Jews possessed
the very same Torah which the prophets confirmed and had access to!
Noted Muslim commentator Ibn Kathir mentions an interesting hadith in relation to Q. 5:41
which helps us to see more clearly Muhammad¶s attitude towards the Torah:
³« Abu Dawud recorded that Ibn `Umar said, ³Some Jews came to the Messenger of Allah
and invited him to go to the Quff area. So he went to the house of Al-Midras and they said,
`O Abu Al-Qasim! A man from us committed adultery with a woman, so decide on their
matter.¶ They arranged a pillow for the Messenger of Allah and he sat on it and said«
<<Bring the Tawrah to me.>> He was brought the Tawrah and he removed the pillow
from under him and placed the Tawrah on it, saying«
<< I T RUS T YOU AND HE WHO REVEALED I T T O YOU.>>He then said«
<<Bring me your most knowledgeable person.>> So he was brought a young man« and
then he mentioned the rest of the story that Malik narrated from Nafi`« These Hadiths state
that the Messenger of Allah issued a decision that conforms with the ruling in the Tawrah,
not to honor the Jews in what they believe in, for the Jews were commanded to follow the
Law of Muhammad only. Rather, the Prophet did this because Allah commanded him to doso. He asked them about the ruling of stoning in the Tawrah to make them admit to what the
Tawrah contains and what they collaborated to hide, deny and exclude from implementing for
all that time. They had to admit to what they did, although they did it while having
knowledge of the correct ruling«´ (Tafsir Ibn Kathir , Q. 5:41; bold and underline emphasis

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 20/30
Here was a golden opportunity for Muhammad to say that he didn¶t believe that the Torahthat he held was completely reliable. And yet instead of attacking the textual veracity of the
Torah Muhammad claimed to fully trust it.
This wasn¶t the only time that Muhammad appealed to and praised the Torah which the Jews
possessed:
The apostle entered a Jewish school where there was a number of Jews and called them to
God. Al-Nu'man b. 'Amr and al-Harith b. Zayd said to him:
µWhat is your religion, Muhammad?¶
µThe religion of Abraham.¶
µBut Abraham was a Jew.¶
µThen let the Torah judge between us.¶
They refused, and so God sent down concerning them: µHast thou not seen how those who
have received a portion of scripture when invited to God's book that it may judge between
them, a party of them turn their backs in opposition. That is because they say, The fire will
not touch us except for a limited time. What they were inventing has deceived them in their
religion.¶ (The Life of Muhammad: A Translation of Ibn Ishaq¶s Sirat Rasul Allah , with
introduction and notes by Alfred Guillaume [Oxford University Press, Karachi, Tenthimpression 1995], p. 260; bold emphasis ours)
And:
Rafi b. Haritha and Sallam b. Mishkam and Malik b. al-Sayf and Rafi b. Huraymila came to
him [Muhammad] and said: µDo you not allege that you follow the religion of Abraham and
believe in the Torah WHICH WE HAVE and testify that it is the truth from God?¶ He
replied, µCERTAINLY, but you have sinned and broken the covenant CONTAINED
THEREIN and concealed what you were ordered to make plain to men, and I dissociate
myself from your sin.¶ They said, µWe hold by WHAT WE HAVE. We live according to
the guidance and the truth and we do not believe in you and we will not follow you.¶ So Godsent down concerning them: µSay, O Scripture folk, you have no standing until you observe
the Torah and the Gospel and what has been sent down from your Lord. What has been sentdown to thee from they Lord will assuredly increase many of them in error and unbelief. But
be not sad because of the unbelieving people.¶ (Ibid., p. 268; bold and capital emphasis ours)
The Quran further says that Jesus was sent with the Gospel to confirm the Torah in his possession and that the Christians of Muhammad¶s time still had access to this Gospel:
And we sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Torah that is
between his hands ( musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina al -tawrat) and W e gave to him the
Gospel, wherein IS guidance and light, and confirming the Torah that is between his hands
( musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina al-tawrat), as a guidance and an admonition unto thegodfearing. So let the People of the Gospel judge according to what God has sent downtherein. Whosoever judges not according to what God has sent down -- they are the ungodly.
S. 5:46-47
This passage introduces additional problems for Zaatari. First, the manuscript evidence suchas the Dead Sea Scrolls, Septuagint etc., points to the fact that the Torah that Jesus confirmed
is essentially the same Old Testament which we currently possess. Thus, if what the Quran
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 21/30
says concerning Jesus is correct then the Old Testament must be the original revelation whichGod gave to the prophets such as Moses.
Secondly, Q. 5:46-47 commands the Christians at the time of Muhammad to judge by the
Gospel which was given to Jesus and if any failed to do so then they were the ungodly. This
presupposes that the Christians still had access to and were actually reading the uncorrupt
Gospel which God revealed to Christ. Otherwise, how could the Quran instruct Christians to judge by a Gospel which no longer existed?
In light of this one must inquire as to the Gospel which the Christians at that time were
reading. The answer to this question is not hard to discover since long before Muhammad¶s
birth the Christian Church started referring to the four canonical Gospels as TH E Gospel
(singular). The Church didn¶t view them as four separate Gospels but as four distinct
witnesses to the one Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the late NT scholar F. F. Bruce
explained:
³At a very early date it appears that the four Gospels were united in one collection. They
must have been brought together very soon after the writing of the Gospel according to John.
This fourfold collection was known originally as µThe Gospel¶ singular, not µTheGospels¶ in the plural; there was only one Gospel, narrated in four records,
distinguished as µaccording to Matthew¶, µaccording to Mark¶, and so on. About A.D. 115
Ignatius, bishop, of Antioch, refers to µThe Gospel¶ as an authoritative writing, and as he
knew more than one of the four µGospels¶ it may well be that by µThe Gospel¶ sans phrase he
means the fourfold collection which went by that name.´ (Bruce, The New Testament
Documents: Are They Reliable? [Intervarsity Press, Downers Grove Il.; Sixth edition, 1981],
Chapter 3. The Canon of the New Testament, p. 18; bold emphasis ours)
Bruce further wrote that:
³By the time of Irenaeus, who, though a native of Asia Minor, was bishop of Lyons in Gaul
about AD 180, the idea of a fourfold Gospel had become so axiomatic in the Church at large
that he can refer to it as an established and recognized fact as obvious as the four cardinal points or the four winds:
µFor as there are four quarters of the world in which we live, and four universal winds, and as
the Church is dispersed over all the earth, and the gospel is the pillar and base of the Church
and the breath of life, so it is natural that it should have four pillars, breathing immortality
from every quarter and kindling the life of men anew. Whence it is manifest that the Word,
the architect of all things, who sits upon the cherubim and holds all things together, having
been made manifested to men, have given us the gospel in fourfold form, but held
together by one Spirit .¶5´
5. Adv. Haer . iii.11, 8 (Ibid., p. 19; bold emphasis ours)
In light of the preceding factors it is obvious that Muhammad¶s Christian contemporaries
would have assumed that the Quran must be referring to the canonical Gospels whenever it
mentioned the Gospel of Jesus. And since there is nothing in the Quran to suggest otherwise
they would have been correct.

In fact, one of Islam¶s earliest biographers identifies the Gospel of John as the written recordof the Gospel of Jesus Christ:
³Among the things which have reached me about what Jesus the Son of Mary stated in the
Gospel which he received from God for the followers of the Gospel, in applying a term to
describe the apostle of God, is the following. It is extracted FROM WHAT JOHN THE
APOSTLE SET DOWN FOR THEM WHEN HE WROTE THE GOSPEL FOR THEMFROM THE TESTAMENT OF JESUS SON OF MARY: 'He that hateth me hateth the
Lord. And if I had not done in their presence works which none other before me did, they had
not sin: but from now they are puffed up with pride and think that they will overcome me and
also the Lord. But the word that is in the law must be fulfilled, 'They hated me without a
cause' (i.e. without reason). But when the Comforter has come whom God will send to you
from the Lord's presence, and the spirit of truth which will have gone forth from the Lord's
presence he (shall bear) witness of me and ye also, because ye have been with me from the
beginning. I have spoken unto you about this that ye should not be in doubt.
³The Munahhemana (God bless and preserve him!) in Syriac is Muhammad; in Greek he is
the paraclete.´ (Guillaume, The Life of Muhammad , pp. 103-104; bold emphasis ours)
Hence, this provides further substantiation that the Gospel which the Quran mentions is that
which the Christians have always possessed, namely the Gospels of the NT.
There is some additional evidence that the early Muslims used the word Gospel in respect to
the entire NT writings in the same way that they employed the term Torah for all the
Scriptures in the possession of the Jews:
There is some evidence that the term Gospel was also sometimes used in the early Islamic
period to indicate the whole New Testament, in the same way that the name of the Torah was
used not only for the Pentateuch, but for all the books of the Jewish scriptures«
( E ncyclopedia of the Qur¶an, Volume 2. E-I, Gospel, p. 343)
The following Muslim writing provides further corroboration that the term Gospel was in fact
used for the entire NT collection:
³Remarks about the GOSPEL of the Christians, the Names of Their Books, Their Scholars,
and Their Authors
³I asked Yunus the priest, who was an excellent man, about the books translated into the
Arabic language which they expound and according to which they act. He replied, "Among
them is the book Al-Surah (The Form) which is divided into two parts, the µOld Form¶ and
the µNew Form.¶" He also said that the "Old [Form]" was the ancient basis for the Jewish sect
and the "New [Form]" for the sect of the Christians. He also said that the "Old [Form]"depends upon a number of books, the first of which is the Torah, WHICH IS FIVE
SACRED WRITINGS. [Then follows] a compilation comprising a number of books, among
which are:
³Joshua, the Son of Nun; The Tribes, which is the book of Judges; Samuel and the Judgment
of David; Traditions of the Children of Israel; Ecclesiastes [Qoheleth]; The Song of Songs;
The Wisdom of Jesus, the Son of Sirach [Ecclesiasticus]. The Prophets, composed of four
books; Isaiah the prophet, for whom be peace; Jeremiah the prophet, for whom be peace; The

Twelve Prophets, for whom be peace; Ezekiel. The New Form which is comprised of four
Gospels: The Gospel of Matthew; The Gospel of Mark; The Gospel of Luke; The
Gospel of John, The Disciples, known as Fraksis [Acts]; PAUL THE APOSTLE, twentyfour epistles. (Abu'l-Faraj Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Nadim, The Fihrist - A 10th Century AD
Survey of Islamic Culture, edited and translated by Bayard Dodge [Great Books of the
Islamic World, Inc., Columbia University Press, 1970], p. 45; bold and capital emphasis ours)
This particular citation demonstrates that Muhammad¶s Christian contemporaries would have
clearly understood from the Quran¶s repeated appeal to the Gospel that Muhammad was
referring to their NT writings, especially their canonical Gospels. There is simply no way
around this fact.
And lest Zaatari misses the point or tries to distort it we will state this in another way so as to
help him see more clearly the dilemma that Muhammad placed his followers in.
1. Muhammad emphatically confirmed the veracity of the Scriptures in the possession of the Jews and Christians of his day.
2. The manuscript tradition proves beyond any reasonable doubt that these writings
would have been the same as what we find in the Old and New Testaments of today.3. Muhammad, therefore, confirmed the very Holy Bible which Jews and Christians
currently possess.
In light of this does Zaatari really expect us to believe that Muhammad wasn¶t referring to the
Holy Bible? Does he somehow think that he knows more than his own prophet did when it
comes to the Torah and Gospel that the Quran mentions? It seems so.
However, Zaatari does quote the following verses to ³prove´ that the Quran acknowledges
that the Scriptures in our possession are not the original revelations: 2:79; 3:78; 4:46, 157;
5:13.
The problem with Zaatari¶s list is that none of these verses suggest that the Judeo-Christian
Scriptures have been corrupted. The most that these passages prove is that a specific group of
Jews living in a certain area during a specific time had tampered with their Scriptures.
However, the same Quran testifies that there were other Jews, as well as Christians, who did
not and would not allow their Scriptures to be falsified:
Yet they are not all alike; some of the P eople of the Book are a nation upstanding, that recite God's verses/signs in the watches of the night , bowing themselves, believing in God
and in the Last Day, bidding to honour and forbidding dishonour, vying one with the other in
good works; those are of the righteous. S. 3:113-114
And some there are of the People of the Book who believe in God, and what has been sent
down unto you, and what has been sent down unto them, men humble to God, not selling the
verses/signs of God for a small price; those -- their wage is with their Lord; God is swift at
the reckoning. S. 3:199
Moreover, one of the references accuses a party (not all) of believers of distorting the Book
W ITH TH E IR TONGU E S :
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 24/30
And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book WI T H T HEIR T ONGUES (as theyread), so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say:
³This is from Allah,´ but it is not from Allah; and they speak a lie against Allah while theyknow it. S. 3:78 Hilali-Khan
It is clear that this is referring to the misinterpretation of specific passages as opposed to the
corruption of the text itself. This is similar to the hadiths that Zaatari cited to prove thatMuhammad didn¶t trust the Scriptures of the Jews:
The Apostle of Allah said: Whatever the people of the Book [Jews and Christians] tell
you, do not verify them, nor falsify them, but say: We believe in Allah and His Apostle.
If it is false, do not confirm it, and if it is right, do not falsify it. (Translation of Sunan
Abu-Dawud, Knowledge (Kitab Al-Ilm), Book 25, Number 3637)
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The people of the Book used to read the Torah IN HEBREW AND THEN EXPLAIN IT
IN ARABIC to the Muslims. Allah's Apostle said (to the Muslims). "Do not believe the
people of the Book, nor disbelieve them, but say, µWe believe in Allah and whatever is
revealed to us, and whatever is revealed to you.¶" (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, HoldingFast to the Qur'an and Sunnah, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 460)
It is evident from the context that Muhammad wasn¶t rejecting the Torah or questioning its
authority. Muhammad was merely cautioning his followers from accepting the explanation or
interpretation of the Jews since what they said in Arabic may not have accurately reflected
what was actually written in the Hebrew text of the Torah.
More importantly, here is what Ibn Kathir wrote concerning Q. 3:78:
Mujahid, Ash-Sha'bi, Al-Hassan, Qatadah and Ar-Rabi' bin Anas said that «
<who distort the Book with their tongues.>
means, ³They alter (Allah's Words).´
Al-Bukhari reported that Ibn 'Abbas said that the Ayah means they alter and add although
none among Allah's creation CAN REMOVE THE WORDS OF ALLAH FROM HISBOOKS, THEY ALTER AND DISTORT THEIR APPARENT MEANINGS. Wahb bin
Munabbih said, ³The Tawrah and Injil REMAIN AS ALLAH REVEALED THEM,
AND NO LETTER IN THEM WAS REMOVED. However, the people misguide others by
addition and false interpretation, relying on books that they wrote themselves.´ Then «
<they say: "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah;>
As for Allah's books, THEY ARE STILL PRESERVED AND CANNOT BECHANGED.´ « Ibn Abi Hatim recorded this statement ... (Tafsir Ibn Kathir , Q. 3:78; bold
and capital emphasis ours)
Hence, both Ibn Abbas and Wahb bin Munabbih believed that none of the Books of God
could be corrupted and that the Torah and the Gospel remain as God revealed them. Whatmakes this rather ironic is that Zaatari quotes a hadith where Ibn Abbas supposedly calls into
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 25/30
question the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians! (We say supposedly since a carefulanalysis of the narrative in light of some of the other reported statements of Ibn Abbas proves
otherwise. For the details please read the following article.)
Nor was Ibn Kathir the only scholar who quoted this report from al-Bukhari. Ibn Qayyim al-
Jawziyyah, in his Ighathat Al Lahfan, Volume 2, p. 351, refers to this same tradition along
with the narrative from Abu Dawud where Muhammad praised the Torah which the Jews possessed at that time:
On the other side, another party of hadith and fiqh scholars said: these changes took place
during its interpretation and not during the process of its revelation. This is the view of Abi
Abdullah Muhammad bin Ishmael Al-Bukhari who said in his hadith collection:
³No one can corrupt the text by removing any of Allah¶s words from his Books, but theycorrupted it by misinterpreting it.´
Al-Razi also agrees with this opinion . In his commentary he said:
There is a difference of opinions regarding this matter among some of the respectable
scholars. Some of these scholars said: the manuscript copies of the Torah were distributed
everywhere and no one knows the exact number of these copies except Allah. It is
impossible to have a conspiracy to change or alter the word of God in all of these copieswithout missing any copy. Such a conspiracy will not be logical or possible . And when
Allah told his messenger (Muhammad) to ask the Jews to bring their Torah and read it
concerning the stoning command they were not able to change this command from their
copies, that is why they covered up the stoning verse while they were reading it to the
prophet. It was then when Abdullah Ibn Salam requested that they remove their hand so that
the verse became clear. If they have changed or altered the Torah then this verse would have
been one of the important verses to be altered by the Jews.
Also, whenever the prophet would ask them (the Jews) concerning the prophecies about him
in the Torah they were not able to remove them either, and they would respond by stating
that they are not about him and they are still waiting for the prophet in their Torah.
Abu Dawood narrated in his collection that Ibn Umar said :
A group of Jewish people invited the messenger of Allah to a house. When he came, they
asked him: O Abu Qassim, one of our men committed adultery with a woman, what is your
judgment against him? So they placed a pillow and asked the messenger of Allah to set on it.
Then the messenger of Allah proceeded to say: bring me the Torah. When they brought it, he
removed the pillow from underneath him and placed the Torah on it and said: I BELIEVE
IN YOU AND IN THE ONE WHO REVEALED YOU, then said: bring me one of youwho have the most knowledge. So they brought him a young man who told him the story of
the stoning.
The scholars said: if the Torah was corrupted he would not have placed it on the pillow
and he would not have said: I believe in you and in the one who revealed you. This group of
scholars also said: Allah said:
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 26/30
" And the word of your Lord has been accomplished truly and justly; there is none who canchange His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing ."
And the Torah is Allah¶s word. (Bold and capital emphasis ours)
It is interesting that Muslim scholars cited Q. 6:115 to prove that the Torah could not be
corrupted since this verse equally applies to all of the inspired Scriptures. Notice what it says:
And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can change His
Words. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
Here is how another renowned Muslim expositor interpreted this text:
The word of God meant in this verse is the Quran. This word is complete in truth and justice.
Nothing can change Allah¶s word which he revealed in his BOOKS. The liars cannot
add or delete from Allah¶s BOOKS. This is referring without a doubt to the Jews andChristians because they are the people of the books which were revealed to their prophets.
Allah is revealing that the words they (the people of the book) are corrupting were not
revealed by Allah, but Allah¶s word cannot be changed or substituted . (Tafsir al-Tabari,
Q. 6:115; bold and capital emphasis ours)
This isn¶t the only place where the Quran says this:
Recite what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord; no man can change His
words. Apart from Him, thou wilt find no refuge. S. 18:27
Thus, the logic of the Quran goes something like this:
1. None can change the words of Allah.
2.
The Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel are the words of Allah.3. Therefore, no one is able to change the Torah, the Psalms or the Gospel.
How much more clearer must the Quran be that Muhammad did not think that the previous
Scriptures were corrupted but that they had been preserved by God and were in the
possession of the Jews and Christians of his time?
Finally, in his haste to prove that the Muslim scripture accuses the Jews and Christians of
corrupting their Books Zaatari cited Q. 4:46 without realizing how this text actually backfiresagainst him.
According to the immediate context this passage refers to a party of the Jews distorting the
words of Muhammad!
Seest thou not those unto whom a portion of the Scripture hath been given, how they
purchase error, and seek to make you (Muslims) err from the right way? Allah knoweth best
(who are) your enemies. Allah is sufficient as a Guardian, and Allah is sufficient as a
Supporter. Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: µWe
hear and disobey; hear thou as one who heareth not¶ and µListen to us!¶ distorting with
their tongues and slandering religion . If they had said: µWe hear and we obey: hear thou,
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 27/30
and look at us¶ it had been better for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few. S. 4:44-46
The late Abdullah Yusuf Ali helps us understand the historical context of this particular
citation:
³« A trick of the Jews was to twist words and expressions, so as to ridicule the mostsolemn teachings of the Faith. Where they should have said, 'We hear and we obey,' they
said aloud, µWe hear,¶ and whispered, µWe disobey.¶ Where they should have said
respectfully, 'We hear,' they added in a whisper, µWhat is not heard,¶ by way of ridicule.
Where they claimed the attention of the Teacher, they used an ambiguous word apparently
harmless, but their intention disrespectful.´ (Ali, The Holy Qur'an, p. 194, fn. 565; bold
emphasis ours)
And,
³« µ Ra'ina' if used respectfully in the Arabic way, would have meant µPlease attend to us.¶
With the twist of their tongue, they suggested an insulting meaning, such as µO thou that
takest us to pasture!', or in Hebrew, 'Our bad one!'´ (Ibid, fn. 566; bold emphasis ours)
In light of this Zaatari must apply his own method of exegesis consistently and conclude that
the Jews corrupted the text of the Quran according to Q. 4:46 since they changed
Muhammad¶s words around. After all, it was Zaatari who quoted Q. 4:46 to prove that the
Jews and Christians corrupted their inspired Books. He must therefore remain consistent and
accept the fact that this verse actually establishes that the Jews corrupted the Muslim
scripture as well!
Zaatari will obvious reject such an explanation and rightly conclude that this passage refers to
the Jews distorting the words of Muhammad by their tongues, not that they actually changedthe text of his scripture. By the same token why doesn¶t Zaatari see that the Quran doesn¶t
accuse the Jews (or even the Christians for that matter) of changing the text of their
Scriptures but of misinterpreting or concealing what their inspired writings teach? The
answer is obvious.
What makes this all the more ironic is that the verse immediately right after Q. 4:46 actually
testifies that Muhammad came to confirm the very Scriptures that the Jews possessed!
O ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed
confirming that WHICH YE POSSESS, before We destroy countenances so as to confound
them, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers (of old time). The commandment of
Allah is always executed. S. 4:47
Note that this verse does not say ³confirming that which ye once possessed´ in the past tense
as if it is now lost, but ³confirming that which ye possess´ in the present tense.
Did Zaatari not bother reading this text which serves to refute his gross distortion of what his
own scripture says regarding the authenticity and authority of the previously revealed Books?
Apparently not!
To make matters worse Zaatari proceeds to quote Q. 5:48 and erroneously concludes that,
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 28/30
So the Quran allows us to establish what is false and true in the Bible, that which is in linewith Islam we take as truth, and that which contradicts Islam is the corrupted part.
Once again Zaatari has to misread the text by ignoring the very context in which it is found.
Here is the immediate context in order to help the reader see the point Muhammad was
making:
Yet how will they make thee their judge seeing they have the Torah, wherein is God's
judgment , then thereafter turn their backs? They are not believers. Surely W e sent down the
Torah, wherein IS GU IDANC E AND LIGHT; thereby the Prophets who had surrendered
themselves gave judgment for those of Jewry, as did the masters and the rabbis, following
such portion of God's Book as they were given to keep and were witnesses to. So fear not
men, but fear you Me; and sell not My signs for a little price. W hoso judges not according to
what God has sent down - they are the unbelievers . And therein We prescribed for them: 'A
life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for
wounds retaliation'; but whosoever forgoes it as a freewill offering, that shall be for him an
expiation. W hoso judges not according to what God has sent down -- they are the evildoers.
And W e sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus son of Mary, confirming the Torah that is
between his hands ( musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina al-tawrati) and W e gave to him theGospel, wherein is guidance and light, and confirming the Torah that is between his hands
( wa-musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina al -tawrati), as a guidance and an admonition untothe godfearing. So let the People of the Gospel judge according to what God has sent down
TH E R E IN. W hosoever judges not according to what God has sent down -- they are theungodly. And we have revealed unto you the Book confirming the Book that is between his
hands, and assuring it ( musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina al-kitabi wa-muhayminanalayhi). So judge between them according to what God has sent down, and do not follow their
caprices, to forsake the truth that has come to thee . T o every one of you We have prescribed
a law and a clear way. If God had willed, He would have made you one nation; but that He
may try you in what has come to you. So be you forward in good works; unto God shall you
return, all together ; and He will tell you of that whereon you were at variance. S. 5:43-48
Compare this with how the following Muslim translates Q. 5:48:
To you We revealed the Book with the Truth, confirming previous Scripture AND
WI T NESSING T O T HEIR VERACI T Y. So judge between them as God revealed and do
not follow their whims, to turn you away from the truth revealed to you. For everycommunity We decreed a law and a way of life. Had God willed, He could have made you a
single community ± but in order to test you in what He revealed to you. So vie with one
another in virtue. To God is your homecoming, all of you, and He will then acquaint you with
that over which you differed. S. 5:48 (The Qur¶an ± A New Translation, by Tarif Khalidi
[Viking Adult Publishers, October 16, 2008], p. 89; bold, capital and italic emphasis ours)
In context Muhammad had just finished explaining to the Jews and Christians that they must judge in accord with their Scriptures since they are fully reliable and authoritative, and
further asserted that his very own book was ³sent down´ to testify to their veracity.
In light of this Muhammad¶s point wasn¶t that the previous Scriptures are corrupt, but that hewas commanded to judge according to the dictates of the Quran. And in the Quran
Muhammad was ordered to inform the Jews and Christians that they were expected, in factrequired, to judge by the Torah and Gospel respectively.
8/4/2019 Muhammad and His Prophet Hood
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/muhammad-and-his-prophet-hood 29/30
In other words, the Quran told Muhammad not to judge the Jews and Christians according tohis law or sharia but in respect to the commandments found in their own Scriptures.
Muslims, on the other hand, were to be judged according to the dictates of the Quran. That isall that the passage is saying.
Now why in the world would Allah command Jews and Christian to judge by Scriptures that
had been changed and were therefore unreliable? Why not order them to abandon their corrupted Books and follow Muhammad¶s laws? The answer is obvious to any honest seeker
of truth. Muhammad did not think that the Scriptures of the Jews and Christians were
unreliable. He actually believed that they were the true revelations that God had given them
through his prophets and messengers.
This means that my first proposition has been fully established and my argument against
Muhammad¶s prophethood therefore remains uncontested. Muhammad confirmed that the
Holy Bible which the Jews and Christians of his time possessed was the uncorrupt revelation
which God sent down through his prophets and messengers. Muhammad believed that his
scripture was in perfect agreement with those inspired Books. However, he was grossly
mistaken since his teachings contradict(ed) the essential doctrines that were/are taught within
the Holy Bible. As such Muhammad is one of those false prophets and antichrists that theHoly Bible warned against (cf. Deuteronomy 13:1-5; Matthew 7:15-20; 24:23-25; 2
Corinthians 11:2-4, 13-15; 1 John 2:18, 22-23).
For more information on what the early Islamic sources actually teach concerning the
preservation of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures and to read our rebuttals to Muslims who deny
that their scripture affirms the authority of the Holy Bible please consult all of the materials
which can be found here.
With that said we now come to the conclusion of this part of our rebuttal. Lord willing, there
will be more rebuttals to Zaatari¶s ³replies´ which will appear shortly.
