What is Indistar?

6

Indistar was created as a tool to support low-achieving schools It has evolved to address a “standard of practice” that is undergirded by:

Collaborative LeadershipData –based Decision MakingImproved Professional PracticeMeaningful Feedback/Coaching

It is structured around specific, behavioral indicators of effective practice organized within domains such as Leadership and Decision Making, Curriculum and Assessment, Classroom Instruction, and School Community.

What is MS SOARS?

7

The Personalization of Indistar to fit Mississippi Schools(Mississippi Schools Obtaining Academic Results for Success)

It aims to fulfill Indistar’s focus on effective practice rather than compliance through laser-like attention to the cycle of continuous improvement

It provides schools and districts with a platform to guide efforts toward improving schools that are 1) research-based effective practices and 2) aimed at the development and strengthening of systems that, if implemented with fidelity, have the likelihood of improving student outcomes and being sustained.
