Mon Histoire Personelle

Nicholas Kurek

I live in Suttons Bay, Michigan.

Interests/Hobbies

I enjoy spending my time with my family .We enjoy most outdoor activities, especially backpacking, and spending time at the beach.

I am a RN in the ICU at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mi.

Some pictures from my travels…

My travels continued…

My travels have taken me through all of the States in the continental United States except Maine.

I have also lived in Toledo, Ohio; Detroit , Michigan; Columbus, Georgia; Washington, DC; and Seattle, Washington.

I have visited Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Canada.

I was amazed at the extreme economical differences in Mexico and the Dominican. I find Canada to be absolutely beautiful and quite similar to areas in the States. I love how laid back most folks in Canada are.

Perception is in the eye of the beholder. Through my experiences, I believe that despite our differences most folks are actually quite similar.

I think to a great extent we are products of our environment and exposures.

I believe the perception that nationals of other countries have on Americans varies depending on their upbringing and exposures.

The French folks I have met all thought Americans are too stressed out and spend too much time working and not enough time actually living and enjoying life.

I am under the impression that French folks enjoy family, vacations, leisurely dinners, wine, and flirting.

I think Americans have a tendency to be very open and share a lot of information about themselves and their families; whereas, the French simply do not share any more information than is necessary.

My funniest travel experience occurred in the late 80’s while going through customs in the service. The search dogs mounted and tore apart a fellow’s bag while his friends busted out laughing. It turned out that one of his friends sprayed his bag with a female in heat scent. I had never seen anything like it – it was actually quite entertaining.
