Most mites are harmless critters that live outdoors. You would never even know they were there, because they are sooooo small.

But many people are familiar with ear mites, a common mite that can infect your cat’s ears. Luckily, it is easily treated with medication.

But are there any mites than can infect

humans?

While technically speaking, this mite does not infect our bodies, many people are highly allergic

to dust mites.

Many people who say they are allergic to dust are not actually allergic to the dust. Household

dust is mostly small bits of our skin that are constantly flaking off.

And technically speaking, that person is not even allergic to the dust mites either.

So what are they allergic to?

The droppings of the dust mite!

The best way to prevent dust mite doo-doo, is to prevent dust mites. The best way to prevent

While dust mites do not infect people directly, there are some mites than

actually can.

The scabies mite.This mite actually penetrates into your skin.

But the creepiest one of all?

The follicle mite.
