DESCRIPTION

MaaS360 delivers instant support for new Windows Phone 8.1 updates available on June 24, 2014. The Windows Phone platform has rapidly solidified its position as the third mobile ecosystem, behind Android and iOS, to appeal to both the enterprise and consumer. Microsoft continues to up its EMM game by giving MaaS360 administrators better visibility and control over the Windows Phone devices that access their corporate networks and resources. In the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management Suites report, Gartner acknowledged that "[Enterprise mobility management (EMM) suites] are an evolution from previous-generation mobile device management (MDM) products that lacked application and content management" (Gartner, Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Mobility Management Suites, Terrence Cosgrove et. al., 3 June 2014). Watch as Windows Phone MaaSters Chuck Brown and Jimmy Tsang provide an overview of the new EMM features and controls on Windows Phone 8.1 such as: - Wi-Fi and VPN profile settings - Device controls and restrictions, such as location, NFC, Bluetooth, camera and screen capture - Enhanced application management including blacklist/whitelist and silent install - Streamlining of the MaaS360 onboarding process These enhancements, along with the MaaS360 Secure Productivity Suite for WP8 to contain data in emails and web access, will provide what enterprises need to embrace Windows Phone for both corporate-owned devices and BYOD.
