IDEA’s Definition of SLD:

ODE’s Definition of Learning Disability:

a. General. “Specific Learning disability” means a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself in the imperfect ability to listen, think, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations,

including conditions such as perceptual disabilities, brain injury, minimal brain

dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia.

• Lexia– 5 days/week, 20 minutes/day

Tier 3 must be implemented for 6 weeks with fidelity, progress monitored with support and evaluated at the end of this 6 weeks.

Progress monitoring must be data based, i.e. STEPS
