Mia was born Mariel Margret Hamm. She was born on March, 17, 1972 in Selma Alabama. In her child hood she moved around a lot. She moved to Italy where soccer is the main sport. So her family learned to love soccer.

Challenges and ProblemsHer brother died of blood desise and they were very close. She had to chose to go on the US World cup team but if she wanted to she had to skip a year of college. Because she had to commit to the team. So she would grow skills and get use to the team. Her father was a problem he was in the military so they moved around a lot.
