Graham Ashmore – Lead International Team for the Environmental Technologies Cluster

UKTI is the national government organisation that supports both companies in the UK trading

internationally and overseas companies seeking to locate in the U.K.

In the the West Midlands UKTI works closely with the Development Agency - Advantage West Midlands to

deliver an agreed international strategy.

• Regional Internationalisation of Clusters project covering all ten priority clusters £4 million over 4 years + leverage of core funding

• Delivered through the five international trade teams at each Chamber/Business Link supported by regional staff

• Cluster leads and coordinators

• 50+ International Trade Advisers

UKTI likes to work closely with industry groups so that the market intelligence and supply capabilities are in harmony

• 142 companies have participated in international activities

• 30 E.T. companies developing their export skills through the “Passport” programme

• Support for companies using trade show visits to research new markets in Central Europe, Mexico and the Middle East. 75 companies – 11 shows

• Seminars, focus groups, visiting experts

• A land remediation company has set up a successful distribution network throughout Central Europe
