Some of the questions we’ll ask :
• How are people using social tools?
• What changes have happened in SharePoint due to Microsoft’s plans for social, and what is coming next?
• How will social impact my business?
• How does social impact my SharePoint planning, and my ability to manage SharePoint across the enterprise?

My Day in Social
Definitions
Governance is about taking action to help your organization organize, optimize, and manage your systems and resources.
A governance strategy is never static – it is a living, breathing process and a set of
rules that you should live by, not die by!
Your governance strategy needs to be adaptable to meet the growing,
changing needs of your business.
• SharePoint out of the box is a powerful platform
• But many organizations don’t think they have the time, money, people to spend on planning
• The same can be said for governance
• The result? • Site sprawl• Unfettered content• Process lawlessness
Why are we talking about governance?
Many organizations are experiencing a “Governance Crisis” – how to manage their users and rapidly growing data across many different platforms.
Cloud computing provides an opportunity to move commodity infrastructure and services to cloud-based services managed by some of the world’s leading technology companies, reducing risk and optimizing resource utilization.
As infrastructure and services increasingly are distributed across public, managed and private cloud environments, the need for sophisticated tools to support Governance and Administration will be essential.

The micro-feed enables users to do the following:
• Participate in conversations by posting comments and replies
• Post pictures and links
• Use tags (starting with the # symbol) to define keywords that users can follow and search for
• Use mentions (starting with the @ symbol) to tag users in posts and replies
• Indicate agreement with comments and replies by clicking Like.
• Follow people, documents, sites, and tags to customize their feed
Office 365 has all these capabilities too.
