    Fromthearchitect.In2011Budimex(Contractor)andEstudioLamela(designer)wonadesign&buildcompetitionforexecutionofCityStadiuminLublin.Aresultofthiscollaborationwasafootballstadiumwithacapacityofabout15400numberedseats,meetingtherequirementsofUEFAandPZPNforCategoryIIIstadiums.

    ThepropertywaslocatedontheBystrzycariverside,onalmost19acreparcelofliquidatedindustrialfacility(theoldsugarfactory).

    Intheareaoutsidethemainobjectofthestadiumarealsotwofullsizetrainingpitches.

    Infrontofthestadiumthereisaparkingforapprox.1,000carsand20buses,includingplacesfordisabledpeople.Atthegrandstandthereareparkingspacesforplayers,VIPguests,pressrepresentatives,activistsandemployees.

    ThemainentrancetotheVIPcomplexislocatedonthewestside.

    Theprojectwasbasedonthefunctionalutilityprogram,butduringthedesignprocess,asaresultofcollaborationwiththeclientandcontractor,solutionsfortheimplementationofcommercialfunctionswereintroduced.Thepropertywasdesignednotjustforfootballcompetitions,butwillbeabletohostotherculturaleventsandbecomeanimportantsportsandrecreationcentre.

    thecontractingauthority,thebuildingmayoperateandofferitsservicesnotonlyduringlargeevents.Intheeasternpartofthegrandstandtherearecommercialhousingshops,cafesandaspathatwillallowpartialfundingoftheobject.

    Furthermore,manyroomsandspacesaredesignedtoperformroleofserviceduringtheeventsofmatchplaytheeventsandtobeabletohireandraiserevenuecontracting.Organizationofeventsonthefieldwillbepossiblewithgrasslandsprotectivesystem.

    Duetoitslocationitwasadesignchallengetocreateanobjectthatwillbeeasilyvisiblefromadistance.Designedfacademakesthebuildingilluminatedblockwhichisadistinctivelandmark.

    Theelevationwasdesignedintheformoflongitudinalstripsofmetalpanels(witharelativelylargeperforations)girdingthebuilding.

    Themaingrandstandislocatedonthewestsideofthestadium.Thisistheheartofthestadiumwherethemainsupportingfeaturesaresituated.

    InthecentralzonethereisrepresentativetwostoreyhallentranceforVIPfans,thatcanbealsoalobbyforanoffice/conferencecenter,exceptmatchdays,aswellastheentranceforthepress.

    Entrancesforplayersarelocatedsymmetricallyonbothsidesofthehall.Thegroundfloorisusedmainlyforplayerssupportingfunctionssuchaslockerrooms,gymsandtrainingfacilities.

    At+1levelthereareroomsforjournalists,includingconferenceroomandworkrooms.Atjournalistsdisposalisalsothehighestusablefloorwherethereare200commentatorspositions.
