Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As we begin a new program year, we would like to thank all who were involved in our 20th Anniversary and continue to support Leadership New Mexico. We are excited to see what the next 20 years has in store for us!
We are excited to kickoff our programs and bring a new group of outstanding leaders into the Leadership New Mexico family. The 21st Core Program began with its Orientation and Retreat Session in Santa Fe on September 8-10. The class is once again a diverse group of 36 individuals from 16 communities across the state. They will no doubt challenge previous Core Program classes as the “best class ever!” Read more about the session in this newsletter. The 2016-2017 Connect New Mexico Program launched its first session on September 21 in Los Alamos. We are excited to involve these outstanding young leaders from
around the state in the program this year. Visit our website for a complete class list of each program.
We have some fun tours planned for Lifetime members and Alumni members this year! On Friday, September 30, the ABQ BioPark is hosting a behind the scenes tour of the Albuquerque zoo. Spaceport America and Virgin Galactic are hosting an exclusive tour on Friday, October 28. Winter Issues Update is
scheduled on January 12-13, 2017 to discuss current issues in New Mexico. Enclosed is a registration form for the Spaceport America Tour and Winter Issues Update. We encourage graduates to become an Alumni member or a Lifetime member of Leadership New Mexico. With your membership, you may attend all Leadership New Mexico events, tours, and programs throughout the year. Join the 171 Lifetime members and you will receive additional benefits along with all of the other Alumni member benefits. Please refer to the back of the newsletter or our website for more information.
I am honored to be Chairman of the Board of this great organization. Leadership New Mexico is successful because of the remarkable contributions of so many people. We thank you for your investment of time and resources that impact Leadership New Mexico’s success, allowing us to continue educating our state’s leaders. Leadership New Mexico’s success would not be possible without great alumni and friends like you!

In 2009, Leadership New Mexico established an endowment fund for the future of the organization. The purpose of the endowment fund is to provide a permanent source of income to offset administrative expenses, allow the organization to focus its fundraising efforts exclusively on program expenses, and serves as a financial cushion against lean times to ensure that Leadership New Mexico’s mission will be sustained in perpetuity. Gifts to Leadership New Mexico’s endowment fund are made through Lifetime Memberships and are fully tax-deductible. Currently, there are 171 Lifetime Members who have contributed to the endowment. It is not necessary to be a graduate of Leadership New Mexico to become a Lifetime Member.
If you would like to support the endowment fund or purchase a Lifetime Membership, contact Leadership New Mexico. All contributions are tax-deductible, charitable donations, and may also be made through your United Way commitment. Visit our website for a form or more information.

LEADERSHIP NEW MEXICO ALUMNI PROGRAMThe Leadership New Mexico Alumni Program was launched in September 2001. In the twenty Core Program, fourteen Local Government Leadership Program, and nine Connect New Mexico Program classes, nearly 1,400 participants from 83 communities have explored the issues facing our state. The goal of the Alumni Program is to continue the education of Leadership New Mexico graduates in a meaningful and dynamic way. In addition, interaction with graduates from other programs and classes expands networks and exposes leaders to a diversity of perspectives and fosters professional and personal relationships, which are significant benefits of Leadership New Mexico. As a graduate, you have the capability to be a powerful voice for change in New Mexico.
