Step 1: Explain Temperature and Luminosity Scales on classroom walls

Step 2: Give each student a colored “star”. Explain how they “plot” their star.

Step 3: Have students move around to “plot” their star. Stop and tell those that are correct to stand still and then have those that are not correct to try again.

Step 4: After everyone is in place discuss temperatures and luminosities. Locate Sun.

8.9B relate plate tectonics to the formation of crustal features

Vocabulary---Converge- move together

Diverge- move apart SongTransform- slide past

Subduct- go underneath

Diverge 4 steps away from your shoulder partner

Converge--4 steps back towards your shoulder partner

Transform-- Left 2 steps forward then 2 backRight 2 steps back then 2 forward.

Subduct-- Line on right hold up arm and left line goes underneath to switch places.
