Dear Parents,
March was the last month of the second term. The children had a very busy term full of fun and
creative activities. We would like to record the significant development of your children.
Indeed, it was a pleasure having conducted the second parent-teacher meeting that was very
constructive. We appreciate your cooperation and participation in your child's progress
throughout the year. The third term will start with an amazing theme “Under the sea”. Children will
explore the mystery of the ocean and discover the sea creatures. We look forward to seeing our
children back for more experience and new adventure.

Playing – indoors and outdoors, alone and with others,
quietly or boisterously – allows children to find out
about things, try out and develop skills, take risks,
explore their feelings, learn from mistakes, be in
control and think imaginatively. Playing is an
important centre of learning for young children.
8th- First day of the third term
11th- Spring Hunt
15th– Birthday Club Celebration
18th- Summer Fair “Bake Sale”

Arabic and Islamic Studies
Dear Parents,
During the month of March, we learned a lot of new letters, e.g. ز، س، ش. Children enjoyed making a fish out of
paper plates and they also have made trees out of newspapers. All the students learned how to count all the way
to number 10. Children learned the" number song” heard in class and enjoyed singing it. They also learned the
name of the animals from the stories we read together (such as tiger, giraffe and monkey). We learned the
opposites of happy and sad, and a lot of them were making happy and sad face expressions, which was a very
funny day. We enjoyed our cooking activity making cheese sandwich in the shape of star (the shape of the
monthنجمة). Children were very pleased with the taste. During this month we enjoyed playing with the color
orange (برتقالي), kids blew in orange water using the straw and made bubbles. They enjoyed their free time with
paint. At the end of the month, all children enjoyed playing with the pets. It was a really fun day.
I hope you all had a wonderful Spring break and look forward to seeing you.

Jungle Bugs and Angels
Dear parents,
This is Miss Rania from Jungle bugs and Angels classrooms.
Our topic for the last month was “Animals”. We were focusing on recognizing the different types of
animals such as pets, farm and jungle animals, on discovering the sound each animal produces, on
learning how to be kind towards animals, and how to take care of them.
Our children enjoyed all the activities that were related to our theme especially the pet’s day, the children
had a good experience in watching, feeding, playing and discovering the differences between animals
Jungle bugs children also enjoyed our art and craft activities around the “animals" theme using different
materials and enjoyed our roll play by wearing animals costume, imitating their sounds and the
movements.
Our children also enjoyed our cooking activities by making animal’s faces with bread, cucumber, tomato,
olives and Labaneh .
Our Angels baby class also discovered several animals by playing with stuffed animals and wearing
animals costume pretending being cows or ducks, they also enjoyed decorating animals with finger print
using different colors.

Shark class
Sharks Class followed the theme Animals in March, this month the theme was a great learning
experience for the children to know more about different types of animals which includes wild animals,
farm animals, pets, reptiles and birds. The children got familiar with the sounds each animal has,
patterns and food they eat as well. The children were very involved in the activities and enjoyed it in
every step. This month the children did recognition of all colours, we re-enforced numbers from 1 -10,
revised star, square and triangle shapes. We reviewed the letters from phonics phase 1 and 2. The
children enjoyed making animal masks and doing group projects together. On the 21st of March we
celebrated mother’s day, our mothers joined in and helped their children making necklaces and greeting
cards. On the 27th
of March Kiddy planet had the parent teaching conference as it was the end of the
second term for the children. The last day of the second term was full of fun as the children had an
amazing class party . God Bless Them all!

Octopus class
Dear Parents,
The Octopus classroom had a great month. “Animals” was the theme of the month and all the
children had fun learning through the topic. They learnt to categorize animals into different groups like
pet, farm, wild animals and reptiles. They memorized most of the concepts by listening and watching the
audio/visuals, working with different activities and using lots of learning aids and games. Children
painted their face and acted like different animals like cats, dogs, lion, tiger etc. Mother’s day was a
spectacular event for all mothers and hope all had a lovely time doing the classroom activity together.
Finally, all children loved and enjoyed watching a wide variety of pets brought to the nursery. The
Octopus class children are learning, developing and growing rapidly. I'm proud to say that they are ready
to move to the next level. Hope you all are happy and delighted to receive their progress report for the
second term and may the children from the Octopus class shines like big diamonds and fly with bright
colors (Inshallah).
The new topic for the next month would be “under the sea”. Children will explore and learn all
animals and things that they find under the sea and the life of sea creatures. Till then please enjoy your
big long break and see you all next term.

Miss Zubeda,Class Teacher
Dolphin class
Good Day every one!
This was another exclusive month at Kiddy Planet nursery. The theme of the month was “Animals “,
and it was even more interesting and fun loving than ever. The children enjoyed learning about all
different types of animals. We started off with ‘Pets’ as a sub topic and the children could learn about
their favorite pets and about some interesting facts about them. We concluded that a fluffy puppy or a
poodle is the most favorite one in their hit list chart. So, parents that’s a great clue for you, if you are
thinking about some gift for your children.
With the ‘Farm Animals’, it became such an ease, as the kids were already in love with “Old
Macdonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O.” They sang and danced with funny animal sounds and moves.
Later on, children colored different animals. They actually made some funny animal sticks. Then we
integrated the theme with the cooking activity: our Lil’ Chefs dipped their cooking tools in jam and
made a Hippo, a Lady Bird, an Elephant and a Rhino. They very proudly licked their fingers instead
of wiping it with a napkin. They could not wait to eat it.
However, the Oreo Bunnies were the coolest ones. The children wanted to eat the Oreos and the
Bananas, but they also wanted to keep the Bunnies. It was incredible to see the children so indulged in
the activity. These activities are worth trying at home. Parents can spend their time in a very funny
and unique way.
I wish you all a Happy Spring Break!

Starfish class
Dear Parents,
Here we go with the “Animals” theme!! We have been waiting for so long to get one of the most interesting
topics that children will enjoy learning about. Yes!! We finally celebrated learning about pets, farm, wild &
desert animals.Every theme had its own flavor so far at star fish class, but with the animals theme children were
given the opportunity to feel, see, hear, manipulate, imitate, pretend role play, discover, sing, and dance their
way through learning.
We started the month learning about pet & farm animals. My pupils enjoyed
learning through play by making the group project “Star fish Farm”. They tried
their hands on by placing each plastic animal in the right shelter & place. Look
at our end of term project: “Star fish Farm”.
By interactive learning the project developed the children's cognitive, social, motor
and language skills.They said:
The Duck is swimming in the lake.
The horse is at the stable.
The cow is eating grass.
The farmer is taking care of his farm……..
Next, the third and fourth week went by smoothly & exciting too. Guess what?!! Children learnt about wild
animals and Oh My God!! I felt we were at the zoo! They enjoyed the role play of imitating the sounds, actions
& movements of wild animals & kept on requesting to roar like lion and other animals and they never stopped
but kept on and on.
In addition, the last week was about revising all what we had learned and it had the icing of the cake; where on
27th March 2013 representatives from Posh paws “Animal sanctuary and petting farm” came in for a visit to our
nursery where children learned by real life animals, which gave them a more accurate understanding about how
to be kind, how to care and feed animals.
Last but not least, this term is coming to an end. I can’t believe how time flied. I want to wish all my children a
happy spring holiday. Hope they will enjoy it a lot. I am looking forward to starting term three practicing for the
graduation ceremony, to seeing them dressed in caps and gowns. Get ready to uncover what awaits you in the
theme “Under the Sea” where you should expect the unexpected. I will miss them all, yet am sure they will be in
safe hands.
Regards, Zainab
