A movement that questions the present role of alcohol in society and breaks myths associated with alcohol use

• Open for all who want to change alcohol culture

• and think that people in Finland should drink less

Goals…

• Finland, where every grown-up can make decisions about alcohol use or not using, without encouragement and pressure from advertising, media and other people to use alcohol

• Finland, where you don’t have to explain why you are sober

• Finland, where it’ easy can be social and sober

Alcohol in the center

• Alcohol use is the norm. If you don’t drink, you have to explain.

• There is an alcohol fantasy at large: a general perception that using alcohol is fun.

Alcohol is the primary cause of death for both men and women in FinlandThe cost of alcohol for society (3,8 -6,6 billion euros) is far bigger than the incomes from alcohol selling (about one billion).

Alcohol industry takes the biggest profits, the majority of bills are paid by the municipalities.

Alcohol is the biggest threat to public health – it is absurd to allow its

advertising

People in Finland are quite critical against the present level of alcohol

consumpition• 70 % think the consumption level is a problem• 70 % think that we should be stricter against

drinking and drunk behavior• 78 % of women think the consumption level is a

problem• 60 % of men think the consumption level is a

to reduce alcohol damages• 62 % want to ban alcohol advertising when it is
