Stadium / Venue Concealments
Stadiums present an interesting capacity challenge for mobile operators. Even small college university stadiums can seat more than 40,000 fans on game day. Larger stadiums can seat more than 100,000 fans. Designing and optimizing a DAS network that can meet peak data demand while remaining largely out of site is a significant challenge.
ConcealFab has experience deploying custom concealments for venues of all sizes. Our concealments are PIM free by design and often include custom antenna mounting brackets to achieve the required azimuth and elevation adjustability. Our concealments are structurally rated, including welded steel frames covered by RF transparent materials. Concealments can be painted to match the venue color or covered with vinyl graphic signage with team logos and seating section identification.

41 CONCEALFAB CORPORATION I COMMERCIAL PRODUCT GUIDE
Overview
Antenna concealments and antenna mounting solutions are an integral part of the wireless network. If designed incorrectly, these products can negatively impact system performance by introducing unwanted losses or by generating high levels of interference. Using “best practices” to design products placed near or in front of an antenna is a good start but the only way to know for sure that a product meets requirements is to perform a test. ConcealFab has made and continues to invest in the RF test capability required to verify product performance.
Passive Intermodulation (PIM) Testing
Passive intermodulation (PIM) is noise generated by the transmit signals at a cell site when they interact with non-linear objects in the RF path. Metal objects close to the antenna, such as mounting kits, can generate high levels of PIM if not designed correctly. ConcealFab owns PIM test equipment and has developed test methods to verify that its products will not generate excessive PIM when exposed to high RF radiation.PIM test capability:
• 700 MHz• 850 MHz• 1900 MHz• Low PIM anechoic test chamber
ConcealFab actively participates in the IEC working group responsible for maintaining the international PIM test specification (IEC 62037). ConcealFab is working with the IEC to formalize and publish the test methods developed in house for measuring the radiated PIM performance of objects placed near antennas. For additional information, please contact ConcealFab customer service.

Transmission Loss Testing
Any material placed in front of an antenna will have some impact on site performance. If not designed correctly, antenna shrouds can create high path loss resulting in poorer coverage and slower data rates.
Material properties such as dielectric constant and loss tangent are important considerations for minimizing loss, as is the shape and thickness of the material. These geometric aspects of the shroud design become increasingly important at frequencies above 5 GHz where the thickness of the material is a larger percentage of a wavelength.
Relying on material datasheet parameters or extrapolating historical data collected at lower frequencies does not adequately predict how a shroud will perform at new 5G frequencies. The only way to know for sure is to perform a test.
ConcealFab has the technical expertise and has made the capital investments required to accurately test shroud materials up to 40 GHz. With this capability, Mobile operators can be confident that ConcealFab shrouds are “5G ready” and able to support next generation wireless networks.
