I suffer from a Minnesota Nice, Midwest, Scandinavian upbringing also known as…

I don’t like to promote myself syndrome

And… I am an introvert

24/7/365

I don’t need more candidates… I need deeper relationships

Myth… Social Media does not make it so we do not need to talk with people

Tools In The (My) Recruiter Tool Chest“Traditional”:

• Phone

• Web site

• Career Page

• Big Job Boards

• Niche Job Boards

• Newsletter

• Networking Events

“Online”:

• Blog

• Twitter

• LinkedIn

• Facebook

• Foursquare

LinkedIn = WorkFacebook = Home

Twitter = Networking Event or BarInstagram = Hey look at this

YouTube = Hey watch/listen to thisFoursquare = I am/was here

Personal vs Professional

Think about your profiles…

Would you connect with you?

Would you call you back?

Be specific about your location and industry (add city of not in the nearest metro area)

Use the “Headline” as a way to attract visitors

Include what you do or what you are looking for

Add a photo (professional, not casual)

Tell A Story:

I’d like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn

Hey Paul, thanks for the webinar. If you find I can help with an introduction be sure to let me

know.
