Course

Description

This course deals with the fundamental concept and

applications of instrumental techniques in chemical analysis.

The course covers some spectroscopic, electro analytical and

chromatographic methods of analysis.

Objectives By completing this course, the student should be able to:

1. Develop an understanding of basic principles of

instrumentation currently available.

2. use the instrumentation to solve analytical problems.

3. Develop an understanding of the potentials and

limitations of different instrumental analytical techniques.

4. Select a proper instrumental technique for a given

analytical problem.

5. Perform standard instrumental laboratory procedures.

6. Complete assigned tasks by self-reliance, discipline, and

responsibility.

Instruction

Methods

A combination of Lectures, exercises, classroom

demonstrations including videotaping, Computer programs and

Overhead transparencies will be used through out the course.
