Purpose

Program Research

Parent Involvement Data

• New research shows that students do much better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education (Science Daily).

• A meta-analysis of 77 studies indicates that parent involvement is associated with higher student achievement outcomes (Harvard Graduate School of Education)

Resiliency

• Re-sil-ience (noun) Also, re-sil-ien-cy. Origin: 1620-Latin resilli (ens), to spring back, rebound (see resilient)

• ability to recover readily from adversity, or the like: buoyancy.

• When things get tough, some people continue to “swim along” while others “nearly sink.” People who are able to “swim” through difficult times are more resilient. They “bounce back” from stressful experiences.

Real Life Example

•Jeffery

•There is no amount of time too small to make a difference

So What?

• Research tells us that some of the important skills that help people to bounce back can be learned by anyone.

• And children learn these skills by watching the adults around them.

• Hence our program…we are going to increase the chances of our children being successful by surrounding them with positive adults!
