• ItallowsyoutoaccessyourdataoniOSdevices(ipads,iPhones,iPods)withouthavingtoconnecttoacomputer.

• Itisapartialbackupofcertaindata.• Itisarepositoryforyourphotosanddependingonyourtypeofsubscription

o “ShareMyLocation”allowsfamilyandfriendstoseewhereyouarewhenusingthatdevice.

HowMuchstoragewillyouneedandhowtogetit.

• Onceyou’vesetupyourdevicesyouwillprobablygetamessagethatyoudon’thaveenoughfreestorage.Themessagewillalsogiveyouanideahowmuchyouwillneedtobuy.

• YoucanbuymorestorageeitherfromyourMacorfromyouriDevicebygoingtoyouriCloudaccountandchoosing“ManageStorage”.

• WhenyouupgradedtoSierra(10.12)onyourMacyouweregiventheoptiontoputthesetwofoldersiniCloud.

• Youwerealsogiventheoptionto“OptimizeStorage”.• IfyouchosetoputthesetwofoldersiniCloud,allyourfilesinthedocuments

folderandallthefilesonyourdesktopwereuploadedtoiCloudbutfullcopiesofeachfileremainonyourharddrive.

• Ifyouchose“OptimizeStorage”onlypointerstotheactualfilesareplacedonyourharddrivetherebysavingyouspaceonyourlocalharddrive.

• ThosetwofolderswillnowappearunderiCloudintheleft-handcolumninaFinderWindow.

• ThesetwofeaturesaregreatforthosepeoplewhohaveMacswithsmallinternalharddrives.

• BUT,beawareofthefollowingimplications:1. YouwillhavetohaveanInternetconnectiontobeabletoaccess
