Once again, the HSPS Founders’ Day dinner was a great success. Approximately 40 members and guests attended the annual event at the Capri Ristorante.Upon arrival, participants were greeted by Holly Settles, HSPS Secretary, and could choose from a special Prix Fixe dinner menu or order from the regular menu.

As always, everyone enjoyed the Social Hour by talking with old friends and new alike.

As everyone took their seats for dinner, HSPS Cmd. Jim Duncan led with a special prayer follow by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Flag Officer P/D/C Guy Waddy.

Needless to say, everyone enjoyed their dinner. Both the food and the service by the Capri Ristorante staff was flawless.

D/C David Robertson, JN (Dist. 24 Cmd.) was recognized and thanked for his service.

HSPS XO Lt/C Alan Hyde presented certificates to new member Albert Rubenstein, Ph.D.

Other new members recognized included: (l-r) Jim & Barb Graham, and Dayle Gravenstreter.

With that, we were ready for the evenings entertaining program.

Search & Rescue at Sea was presented by Vice Admiral Terry Cross, USCG (Ret.). As both a fixed wing & rotary wing aviator, he spoke on several unique rescues by the Coast Guard, including one that he was personally involved in. It was truly a very interesting and well delivered presentation.

Special Thanks to the Event Coordinators:

Joy & Alan Hyde who planed and coordinated everything detailed here.

Additional thanks to Arturo DiRosa and the staff of the Capri Ristorante for their excellent food, service, and venue.
