How to Set Up GOOGLE ANALYTICS & Install on Website

let’s first define What is GOOGLE ANALYTICS?

A freemium web analytics service

offered by Google that tracks and reports

website traffic

& an analytical tools for Search Engine Optimization and Marketing

purposes

so let’s start & proceed to your web browser

type in https://analytics.google.com

you will land on this Home Page

3 stepsSign up

Add tracking codeLearn you audience

we started by clicking

let’s start filling up this form

choose what you will track

type in your Account Name (required)

your Website Name

your Website URL (required)

select your Industry from drop down menu

search your Country here

& select your Time Zone here

check all the Recommend Data Sharing box

Lastly click, Get Tracking ID

Terms of Service Agreement appears

please give time to read it first

to fully understand what your going through

once done, click I Accept

now this is your Dashboard

here is your Tracking ID

beside it there’s a pop up note…

that says…

then, click OKAY, GOT IT!

Done in setting up your GA account

since I used website under WordPress hosting…

we will install it first on your website

so let’s proceed to Website Dashboard

here’s the WordPress dashboard

there are several ways to install GA

to start gathering information on your site

& presenting it to us in a Reports

some of these depends on CMS?…

WordPress, Wix & more…

Google has a help article for every CMS

our focus now is using GA in Wordpress…

by MonsterInsight Wordpress Plugin

go to Plugins then click

then select Add New

in keyword bar search Monsterinsights (w/o spacing)

once you click install, wait & see “Installed”

just click Activate

once activated…

you’ll notice the new section in your admin area

Navigate Insight then settings

here’s the setting screen

the 1st thing we need to do is to…

Authenticate with Google account

to allow the site & Google to communicate

& send the information about website visitors

click now Authenticate with your Google account

this will appear, click NEXT

enter Google Code

click to get the code

before the Code…

click allow the App & Google…

to use your information

after allowing this will appear

here’s the code

copy & paste the code here

& click NEXT

click the drop down arrow to select

since it’s only 1 site, 1 option will appear

the default All Web Site Datathen click next

not really Done! there’s more…

but your not going to sweat, by just clicking & save

done with the General setting set up

let’s move on in Tracking

under Tracking is Engagement

just go on filling it up what’s necessary

followed by Demographics, same procedure from previous

next Enhanced Link Attribution

lastly, Permission

see reports, use settings &allow usage tracking

those are the basic settings that you need to set up

to your WordPress site

& now it is ready to send

data to Google Analytics

& start analyzing your traffic

Instead we’re going to add tracking script to

Your Theme

or a Custom Website

First go to your Google Analytics account Administration

go to Tracking info, drop down the menu

& click Tracking Code

encircled is the Tracking code script

highlight to copy the script…

open your website file to locate the…

the right place to put on the script

It’s should be on the header file so that…

It will tract page by page of your site

see arrow insert location on file

& paste it like this

finally go back to GA admin &…

click Send test traffic

the zero active user should become 1 which means its working already

Hooray!!!

& you may start ANALYZING YOUR VISITORS traffic
